- Ideally, we would want to be able to give credit to as many end-users as possible, so that the business grows. - On the other hand, giving credit opportunity means owning risk; risk of fraudulent actions in the network. So, to manage that risk - we should then give as little credit as possible. This is where the Head of Credit Risk role comes in! The position of 'Head of credit risk' owns the following work areas: (a) Driving the development of ML models and heuristic rules to give right credit to right set of users (b) Driving the development of our anti-fraud systems (c) Working with merchants and third party data providers to get more data about users to make better decisions (d) Working with internal stakeholders to balance growth vs risk decisions - The role holder will be heading a team of ~16 employees (presently) composed of Product Management professionals of Underwriting & Financial Analysis, Anti-Fraud Analytics and Anti-fraud Monitoring teams. - The Credit Risk Head will be internally interacting with our CEO, CFO, Engineering Leads, Data Scientists and Data Engineers. Externally, the person in this role, will also be talking to our existing merchants (via our partner success team) to derive more value in their connection
