Job Title: Head of Corporate Relations & Career Services

We have been retained by a leading EdTech organization based in Delhi NCR.

The Organization is looking for an exceptional senior leader to manage the Career Services portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Strategy for the Department

- Develop an annual strategy to achieve the overall objective of the Career Services and Advancement Office

- Execute this strategy through regular physical and virtual interactions with corporate entities/ institutes and entrepreneurial bodies.

- Prepare & review weekly/monthly/annual status reports about career services activities for UG and PG and results.

- Build comprehensive communication collateral for potential employers in line with the brand guidelines in consultation with the marketing communications team.

- Create student procedures for the department in consultation with Placement Committee and the Vice Chancellor of the University.

- Get actively involved in identification and implementation of improvements in the working of the career advancement team and constantly reviewing the system in order to enhance student experience.

- Form mechanisms for redressal of grievances related to career advancement.

- Serve as an expert resource to faculty and other stakeholders in the university in relation to careers, employability and the labour market.

- Be responsible for preparing the budget for the department and ensure its implementation and adherence

2. Placement Committee

- Be actively involved in planning the agenda for the Placement Committee and drive the committee procedures, meetings, and support meeting of the committee objectives

- Conduct and chair placement committee meetings.

- In consultation with the placement committee, update the committee guidelines

- Ensure the Committee guidelines are followed and their actionable and decisions are promptly and properly implemented

- Lead the initiative in setting up student placement committees and set the agenda for them. Oversee their activities as well as actively support their interactions with corporate entities.

- Leverage the support of the student placement committee in organising placement related events / meets and ensure active participation and ownership of the student representatives in the placement process. Actively track their participation.

3. Student Initiatives

- Be responsible for ensuring provision of information, advice and guidance to students through various mediums, such as individual meetings, group sessions, email, etc. directly as well as through the team.

- Provide in-depth individual, face-to-face interviews to students

- Provide email or telephone advice and lead guidance discussions with regards to career prospects, higher education, student aspirations, etc.

- Conduct workshops or sessions with groups of students on specific topics such as preparing for interviews, how to choose a career path, basics of entrepreneurship etc.

- Advise students on the mechanics of job seeking, such as CV feedback, application form reviews, interview advice, etc.

- Ensure guidance for competitive examination is provided to the students

- Advise on the development of the skills required by employers, institutes, training, etc. and facilitate organisation of specific training programmes / skill building initiatives as may be needed from time to time.

- Oversee the organisation of workshops featuring external speakers, such as employers, representatives from professional bodies, alumni mentors etc.

- Plan and administer assessment tools such as psychometric tests, personality tests, etc. to help students identify their interests, aptitude, etc.

- Review the test results and make linkages back to employment opportunities, higher education, entrepreneurship etc. - Feedback to the students on the same

- Educate students and develop students' awareness of various options that can be explored, such as entrepreneurship, volunteering, etc.

- Liaise and provide feedback to the Placement team based on student interactions (e.g.: sector preferences among students, etc.)

4. Outreach

- Maintain links with employers, incubation centres, higher education institutes, professional bodies, etc. to obtain information about opportunities, admissions processes, cycles, recruitment trends, etc.; Foster relationships with relevant stakeholders to enable tie-ups with the University.

- Ensure balance of focus between SIP and final placements and modify outreach strategy and communication accordingly. Ensure team implements the same

- Interact with previous and potential recruiters, alumni in developing and maintaining strategic links for inviting them for campus placements

- Collect feedback from the previous employers where our alumni are placed

5. Operations

- Organize pre-placement talks by varied organizations providing career opportunities for students.

- Collect the job announcement/description, admission application forms from the representatives of each visiting company/ college and sharing the same with the students through the teams.

- Ensure efficient coordination of campus recruitment process, with the help of placement coordinators and student councils, right from the scheduling of pre-placement talks, interview halls allocation, etc. to the distribution of appointment letters, collecting acceptance letters from the students and dispatching them to the employers.

6. Stakeholder management

- Review from time to time, the results of university examinations and forwarding reports hereon to the Academic Council

- Make available the statistical/other examination information to UGC/State Government from time to time

- Participate in various audits and provide information / data as needed

7. Team Management

- Provide guidance to the team in discharge of duties

- Review performance of the team on a regular and continuous basis and provide developmental feedback

- Provide oversight and support to the team and support in any escalations.

- Develop the team to provide quality support to all stakeholders and execute HR activities in line with time and quality requirements.

- Keep self and team updated on key happenings in the industry / general business environment and proactively identify and leverage opportunities

The ideal candidate for this role should have a Master's degree with at least 12 (twelve) years of relevant experience.
