Head - Controllership - BFSI/NBFC

We have been retained by a Leading MNC in the BFSI Sector to recruit a Head of Controllership. The position reports to CFO and manages a team 20 plus people.

Reporting to the CFO, this is a critical role which is responsible for Finance Operations, Accounting and Reporting across India. Managing a team of 20 professionals, your responsibilities will include:

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements that comply with IGAAP and local statutory requirements. Managing the relationship with the regulator on a regular basis.

- Direct the month-end close process and ensure detailed multiple sets of books are maintained to accommodate each legal entity local and tax statutory reporting and in compliance with Statutory Reporting Monitoring Program.

- Establish and maintain a strong controls environment. Implement risk based finance wide controls to ensure strong controls over financial reporting are effective, manage internal and external auditors and resolve issues proactively to mitigate audit findings.

- Assess the accounting, legal and regulatory implications of business decisions to ensure all issues are considered and addressed.

- Proactively anticipate and react to changing business needs and assess/implement the impact of these changes to systems, processes, and external/internal customers.

- Become a change agent by turning strategy into reality and providing education and effective communication to the business and impacted stakeholders.

- Partner with the business as the subject matter expert of US GAAP, local GAAP, local tax laws and other regulatory compliance matters.

- Support global Finance initiatives to improve performance, productivity and overall work quality. Projects will include system implementations and upgrades as well as process improvement projects.

- Build a best in class Finance team focused on results and value-add services in a matrixed organization

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be CA qualified with 13-18 years of post qualification experience. You must have worked within BFSI, NBFC or Telecom sectors and have previously should have managed relationship with Regulator. You must be able to demonstrate a track record of implementing and following robust controls and processes to the standard of Global best practise. You must have excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise as all levels as well as with individuals based abroad.
