Head of Finance/ CFO - An internet jewelry start up is looking to hire a Head of Finance/CFO. - This is a senior leadership role and the incumbent will be responsible for driving the strategy of the firm from a financial stand point- this includes identification and evaluation of opportunities for the organization. - The role is directly responsible for the achievement of long-term business objectives through the judicious management of financial resources, providing advice and support to the management team on financial decisions, investments, borrowings, cash flows and investor management. Responsibilities : - Work closely with the management to draw up and execute the financial strategy of the company - Ensure financial discipline through formulation of good financial controls and enabling processes; set up internal controls, systems and processes for the organization - Financial planning and implementation, capital raising from investors, and managing investor relations - Handle all communication/queries of the Venture Capital fund/ investor in the company - Engage the board, strategic partners around financial issues, trends, and changes in the operating model - Manage financial controls and accounting procedures - Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company - Provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs - Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained - Review all commercial contracts with financial implications, including negotiations with vendors etc - Optimize cash management in line with forecasted cash flow - Establish &amp; maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements &amp; internal audit guidelines - Maintain oversight over payroll and all internal financial policies - Co-ordinate and produce all tax documentation as required - Set up processes in the business for good governance and necessary approval mechanism at transaction level and design level for day to day activities - Developing, training and leading the finance team Requirement : - Should have a proven track record of leading finance teams and successfully partnering with businesses to facilitate their growth - Ability to set up and take immediate ownership of finance processes, establish metrics and improvement goals to streamline them - Organizational awareness with strong commercial bent of mind - Well organised, hands-on &amp; focused on procedural controls. Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously - Excellent communication, interpersonal &amp; presentation skills - Keen attention to detail - Exceptionally self-motivated and directed - Be adaptable about working in a dynamic /start-up environment, and comfortable with ambiguity - Ability to think beyond current boundaries, question the status quo and take initiatives to challenge, recommend and effect changes Qualification : - Ideally a Chartered Accountant /MBA with at least 12 years of post qualification with a start-up (preferably from e-commerce/retail industry) with 4/5 years with proven experience of liaising with VC firms for fund raising processes (highly desirable)
