HEAD OF CATEGORY - MOBILE PHONES & CE VERTICAL

Description

The Head of Category would be responsible for spearheading the Pan India Mobile Phones & Consumer Electronics (CE) category function.

Responsibilities

The job responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to 


- Spearhead the entire Mobile Phones & CE vertical operations, strategy, analytics & other support functions and to mentor & closely monitor the performance levels of all direct and indirect reportees. 


- Enable effective communication and management of vendor pricing, sourcing category products, one-on-one discussions with vendors, brand partnerships, trade shows, and other events; Helping SHOPX fine tune our focus on Mobile Phones & CE product categories in the wholesale and retail business functions 


- Effective Account Management for merchants in the wholesale and retail business functions. 


- Ensure TAT or customer experience is excelled month on month


- Mobile Phones & CE Category P&L ownership 


- Driving retention initiatives depending upon past trends basis regression analytics


 - Establish performance specifications, cost and price parameters, market applications and sales estimates 


 - Cost effectiveness and budget planning & implementation


 - Coach the team and constantly inspire innovation to achieve excellence 


 - Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors - activities to identify opportunities and key issues


 - Provide proactive solutions, brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies


 - To enable and build partnerships and alliances with reputed Mobile Phones & CE brands and strive to achieve the best deals to ensure maximum margin profitability.


 - To set, achieve and conquer monthly, quarterly and annual targets in line with the company short term & long-term goals and objectives. 


- To develop, direct and effectively execute the product life cycle & methodology, forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the function - tailor made to align to the diverse geographies. 


- Constantly devise and recommend market disrupting strategies backed with market research and competition analysis. 


- Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency.


 - To partake in planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the firm and provide constructive insights at constant innovations and approach mechanisms.

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Direct the equitable assignment of the vertical workforce and ensures workforce is optimally allocated to all channels and resources. Ensure all departmental and company objectives are assigned and effectively communicated in an urgency driven and timely fashion. 


 - Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement. Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.


 - Monitor the accuracy and efficient distribution of reports and other intelligence essential to the organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed. 


 - Implement enabling technologies that may support and enhance the operational effectiveness and strives to optimize organization technology spends.


 - Structure & implement training delivery to the team and support functions for promoting overall development, reiteration of targets & objectives and enhancing efficiency. 


- Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives. - Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel.


 - To meet key personnel to understand market trends, competitor's activities and continuously search for new opportunities to improve business. 


Requirements

- Proven working experience as a Category Head for a large conglomerate with an acute understanding of the Mobile Phones & CE segment. 


- Excellent leadership traits and experience of handling diverse teams across geographies.


 - High level of strategic thinking and business acumen with a strong result oriented approach. 


- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thought process. 


- Proven track record of achieving targets and driving sales growth in a business


- Excellent understanding of the target market mix 


- Highly creative with ability to think out of box 


- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills 


- Up-to-date with latest trends and best practices
