Head Of Business Development (Gurgaon)
The Head of Business Development (BD) will join the India Business team to execute a comprehensive go-to-market plan for company's expansion exclusively in the Indian market with a particular focus growing consumer franchise.
The Head of BD will have to: Manage and develop business and revenue opportunities in the region with a particular focus on growing consumer franchise :
- Develop the right value proposition for partners and Company aiming to solve customer needs through differentiation and innovation. The construct should be a revenue generation engine for Company
- Identify the opportunities that make Company more relevant in the region including developing customer solutions ( ie. funds in/out) through variety of available strategies including but not limited to Top-Up, prepaid cards etc.
Drive and execute implementation of key partnerships with banks and other ecosystem players :
- Manage the existing partnerships to grow our business and ensure that the services provided to Company customers through these partnerships function correctly and grow
- Actively drive Company functional teams (CS Ops, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Treasury) to ensure effective integration and operation; Represent Company in the region externally and also represent internally at Company supporting cross-functional teams and closely working with Product, Marketing, Legal and PR teams to efficiently drive growth in the region
- Represent Company as a thought leader in the region for payments and eCommerce by attending conferences, publishing/syndicating regular articles and research on eCommerce in India to promote Company
- Liaise with the product, legal, compliance, risk management and other teams to ensure region growth opportunities are adequately identified and initiatives are properly assessed from variety of perspectives. Performance management
- Consumer acquisition, activation and engagement growth
- Deal execution and value generation (timing, process, partner satisfaction and commitment)
- Company representation in the region Job Requirements Travels could take up to 50% of his/her time.
- Be an enthusiastic Company user with ability to articulate Company's value proposition from his/her own experience
- Be an independent thought leader with a good understanding of fintech, payments and internet industry
- Have prior exposure to the markets in the region or demonstrated ability to operate in complex multi-cultural environments
- Have strong analytical, business modeling and project management skills
- Be an excellent communicator and have the ability to navigate and influence matrix organization
- Have the ability to manage stressful situations whilst juggling with multiple challenges: creative & problem solver.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor Degree required, MBA preferred
- People with start-up experience particularly in the region is strongly preferred
- Min 7 years of experience in a start-up, eCommerce, mobile, strategy consulting or financial services industry with a solid track record in business development around new technologies
- Strong negotiating skills
- International background with full fluency in Local, English and any other language is strongly preferred
