Our client is looking for AVP - Manufacturing :
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for all of the manufacturing activities.
- Monitor operating budgets. Ensure the efficiency and performance of the plant.
- Oversee and administer plant operations within a heavy manufacturing environment. This includes achieving production, product delivery, quality and cost objectives while operating within company policy and with central and state government and local laws.
- Provide direction for the plant personnel, while driving daily plant objectives by setting expectation and driving accountability.
- Initiate strategies at the plant level and carry out the delivery of plant objectives.
- Implement strategies to introduce TPM as a structured approach to maintenance that maximizes equipment effectiveness and creates reliability culture in the plant.
- Maximize use of the talent, resources, and systems to achieve deliverables and drive business objectives while reducing cost.
- Lead Safety and Environmental compliance within the plant to ensure a safe work environment.
- Build Organizational Capability within the plant to build a high performing team.
- To guide the manufacturing team to develop sustainable best-in-class work practices in order to improve the manufacturing competitiveness of the plant
- Maintain harmonious relationships with workers and union in the day to day operations
Candidate Profile:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering is essential; an advanced degree in Engineering or Management is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Tamil language.
- The incumbent will have at least 20 years of manufacturing and operations leadership experience in progressive organizations of which at least 15 years in tire companies and last 5 years in reputed tire companies in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others (typically acquired through several years- experience) and responsibility including a prior leadership role.
- Strong communication, analytical and planning skills. Self-starter with the ability to work well with others.
- Understanding and demonstrated knowledge of modern tools - Six-Sigma, Lean, 5S, ValueStream Mapping. Demonstrated understanding of change management.
- Ability to influence teams of employees including operators, managers and engineers within the manufacturing disciplines.
- Must have potential to progress to a more senior global operations position.
- An open and honest interpersonal style.
