Head - Accounts - CA

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team of accountants, as well as a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). He or she will be responsible for overseeing the team's daily activities, preparing financial statements, and conducting audits. Additionally, the head accountant will be responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities :

- Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including but not limited to Accounts Payable/Receivable, General Ledger, Treasury, and Tax

- Ensure that all financial reporting deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner

- Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the Executive team

- Manage and develop a team of accountants, providing mentorship and guidance as needed

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

- Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues

- Coordinate audits with external auditors and provide necessary documentation

- Identify process improvements and lead implementation efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting department

- Serve as primary point of contact for all banking relationships

- Negotiate favorable terms with vendors and suppliers

- Oversee accounts receivable/payable functions and collections

- Review journal entries and ledgers for accuracy

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- CA degree

- Experience in accounting, finance, or related field

- 15+ years' experience in an accounting role

- Proven experience leading a team of accountants

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Skills and Qualifications :

- MBA or Master's degree in accounting or finance

- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

- Experience in a public accounting firm

- Strong understanding of tax compliance regulations

- Ability to develop creative solutions to complex financial problems
