HDFC Bank - Unit Head - Trade Finance Applications

Job Purpose :

- This is a leadership role positioned between Trade finance product, Operations, Technology and technology vendor partners for implementing , developing & designing high quality, tailored business solutions with cutting edge technologies for multiple business needs.

- The role manages team of Leaders cutting across Domain experts , Functional analysts, technical analysts etc to manage Program, Projects, Enhancements, Bug/Fix (SFRs) in addition to providing consulting needs related to IT systems& applications for business areas being managed.

- 14-20 years' experience in execution, strategic and planning

- Experience for the role being part of the client (bank) managing/executing projects of related domain will be an edge as against entire experience being from software provider side.

- The role also involves creating products / platforms for catering seamless processing of Trade transactions with value to customers and operations. The prime responsibility will also be to support business with sustainable and scalable solutions which can be easily replicated across products

- Experience in Indian banks managing the system projects for Trade Finance solutions.

- BFS domain areas - handling projects related to Trade Finance

- Set up guidance and strategy for execution or project and support .

Other Responsibilities :

- Oversight on Project planning, delivery, execution and post implementation review.

- Participate in Business and Technology Strategies and Planning to ensure they are aligned, and IT applications deliver business needs well within defined timelines.

- Directions during solutioning of requirements for complex and strategic items.

- Evaluate off the shelf technology applications and provide domain inputs in developing solutions.

- Having interactions with Team Leaders/Unit Heads/ Function Heads of related Business /Credit /Operation Units, Product groups etc. for Business Requirements understanding and presenting options for approaches & solutions.

- Consultant to Business on impact on account of technology projects.

- Giving updates of critical projects in Steering Committee Meetings attended by Senior Management

- Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements

- Periodically review Application / Solution effectiveness with Senior Vendor Resources,

- Manage reviews and conflict resolutions.

- Participate with seniors to periodically review Business Expectations and identify strategies, work out plans to meet objectives.

- Keep constant track of Business technology Trends .

- Assist seniors in New Initiatives

- Review and provide inputs on Technology & Performance Improvement initiatives, Process streamlining Initiatives, etc. (if any).

Educational Qualifications Key Skills :

- MCA/ MBA/ BE/ MSc/B Tech or BSc IT/Graduation with 2 years full time Diploma at NIIT or APTECH, CAIIB or similar.

Distinctive competencies / Special Skills needed :

- Domain knowledge of General Banking and Trade Finance

- Experience of implementing applications in banks

- Through knowledge and experience of SDLC and Project management.

- Technical domain expertise / understanding across cloud , microservices , Dev Sec /RDBMS - Oracle, Sybase, PL/SQL

- OS - Windows 2003 server, SUN Solaris Unix or any flavor of Unix

- Exposure to Project Management Tools - MS-Project Server

- Project Management methodologies, SDLC (Planning, Feasibility Study, Requirements Analysis, Technical Architecture & Design, Development, Testing - UT / SIT / UAT, Implementation, Support, Documentation), Process & Quality, Agile, Hybrid

- Keen eye for technology keeping up with ever evolving landscape
