HDFC Bank - Manager - Fire & Safety Training

Job Purpose :

Develop Fire Safety Manual/SOP/Governance document for the entire organization and its implementation. Suggesting amendment (any new ideas) on manual/SOP's whenever required. Work closely for establishing, managing and monitoring the standards and processes for Fire Prevention & Life Safety in the organization.

Compliance:

1. Develop and plan training and mock drill programs related to fire prevention and fire code regulations for the employees.

2. Ensure that Fire NOCs are renewed & records maintained for critical locations.

3. Monthly / Quarterly Fire Safety Dashboard & Board notes to top management.

4. Interpret and enforce provisions of the National Building Code and various Fire Prevention and Life Safety Act of the state and other fire regulations for Fire Prevention & Life safety in region as per state/ site/ Region.

5. Plan and ensure periodic inspections of Offices/Branches/Currency Chest across the country. Organize and carry out audits - planned and unscheduled to gauge fire & safety preparedness, identify fire hazards; recommend corrective action; perform follow-up inspections to see that corrective measures are taken.

AMC Management :

1. Coordinate with Zonal/Regional Facilities and Administration department for rectification action in case of un-serviceability of Fire & Life Safety Systems of the Offices/Branches/Units.

2. Ensure Functional checks of Fire Detection & Fire Fighting Equipment's, Life safety equipment, Evacuation and Rescue active and passive systems for Correct Indication /Serviceability. Ensure Emergency Kit Bag, Stretcher, AED, Wheel Chair power full torches and emergency light sandbags is available & maintained.

3. Fire Fighting equipment's' AMC, Service Notes and their testing record is maintained in the region. Coordinate with facilities and take follow up.

Audits:

Training & Development:

1. Ensure periodic fire evacuation drill and training across all-region. Monitor Fire safety training organized at unit level as per manual/SOP. Training report to be submitted to Head-Security.

2. Ensure specialized training is conducted for Fire Fighting/Fire Marshal Team, Evacuation Team, Rescue team and First Aid Team deployment, are facilitated in Unit.

3. Ensure that the Fire Safety norms are adhered to in Units right from the project stage,

4. Review/Study layout of new projects and guide about active and passive system Impart training to project staff about fire and safety. Conduct pre-occupancy fire safety checks in new office buildings.

Key Skill :

Bachelor Degree or a Post Graduate in any technical stream with Advance Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering/Adv Dip in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute (University/State Board of Technical Education)
