HCL - Sr Technical Architect - Unix

Responsibilities :-

- Should have proven expertise in DC planning, Effort Estimation and implementation of enterprise UNIX servers with application hosting know how.

- Knowledge in UNIX H/W sizing, capacity planning, UNIX hosting architecture.

- Understand new business scope and drive to create winning pitch for HCL with synergy, reuse and value of infrastructure solutions

- In depth knowledge of different UNIX flavors - AIX, LINUX, HP-UX

- Ability to articulate and effectively manage the competitive analysis for all technical solutions

- Advises senior business and technical clients on their system, storage, and hosting architectures

- Audits the design or implementation of a system architecture and points out bottlenecks and potential improvements that could increase the fulfillment of non-functional system requirements

- Person should have proven expertise to plan High Performance Computing environment (HPC) for compute intensive application

- Experience in Helping in any technical esclations

- Understand and anticipate customer requirements and design a solution strategy for the specific track

- Should be able to create new reference architecture

- Validate BoM for the particular technical track

- Explore avenues for consolidation, virtualization etc

- Provide techinical guidance for projects

- Accountable for successful implementation of technical solution

Technical Requirements

- Should be master of UNIX domain with expertise in AIX and HP-UX

- Should be able to provide solution around all the UNIX flovours

- UNIX product experts on Chassis, Blade, Rack mount servers and possess sound knowledge of evolving technology.

- Should possess knowledge on any of the two towers i.e Windows, Unix, Storage, Database, Network

- Should be an architect or have performed role in similar exercise for atleast 4 years or above

- Should be an Architect in his core domain, followed with L3 level exposure in a subsequent area of the same domain as well as expertise of any other domain/ tower

- Must possess an in depth working knowledge of core domain and subsequent technology/ domain

- Strong experience in design & implementing complex Data Center design involving heterogeneous technologies

- Responsible for architecture design of multi technology & data center solutions.

- Facilitate Solution / Business Architects based on requirements from the business making use of existing IT capabilities and services in the company.

- Expertise in both business and IT, leadership and negotiation skills, experience in governance, project management and economy, knowledge in enterprise architecture and business modeling

- Should have extensive experience around servers provisioning

- Should Have extensive experience in designing high availability solution.

- Strong knolwedge and experiece of DC tool framework

- Possess UNIX multi vendor product know how with pro and Con to arrive at best infrastructure with OS level implication.

- Should be expert and design Cluster based on Geo level, multi DC, Storage integration, Cluster FS, understand application design complexity and product fitment from H/W, S/W, costing persepctive

- Possess and demostrate expertise on various UNIX platform migration planning, implementation and effort estimation across all UNIX H/W.(Vmware/KVM/LDOM/Zone/HP-VM)

Other Skills / Experience

- Hands on experience UNIX (linux/Solaris/AIX/HP-UX) design of Mass UNIX Installation, Firmware,Enterprise patching Solution, OS Hardening, NIS/LDAP, LVM/VxVM, KVM, Mpath etc

- Hands on experience in a Unix environment with design and implementation of servers like FTP, Samba, DNS, Mail, Apache, MySQL etc

- Design & implement virtualization from Vmware, KVM solution. Possess expertise on OpenSource OS, Application and solution

- Exposure to component architecture and modelling techniques, architectural frameworks and patterns

- Experience on converged system such as UCS vBlock will be an added advantag

- Exposure to EMC, Hitachi, Netapp, IBM Storage from on SAN, NAS and DAS perspective.

Certification requirements

- RHCA, Solaris Cluster, LDOM, Redhat Cluster, SuSE Cluster, AIX/HP-UX Cluster, VCS Advance Certification

- Enterprise Architect of any UNIX Stream

- Range of Product Specific enterprise certification

- PMP/ ITIL
