The Role

HCL Technologies, as a Systems Integrator, is enabling a number of Fully Loaded Service lines that is aimed to address the big problem statements facing the Industry. As the Head of Portfolio Management, it will be your responsibility to realize those FLSL for us and others that will come our way.

1. You will guide a team that is charged with creating Telecom Vertical facing solutions combining native solutions from Mobility, BPO, Network Services, ASM, ITO, Big Data, Cloud technology areas from existing solutions, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects

2. You will take an active part in assessing the feasibility of the required solution and provide a high level Business case (Cost versus Benefit versus opportunity) in conjunction with the Pre-Sales / Business Consulting Organization, The Sales Organization, and the Delivery Organization. You will guide the sponsor through the approval process producing supporting documentation and analysis

3. You will plan, manage and lead a portfolio of solution projects through active coordination and orchestration of Horizontal capability managers and in conjunction with the Delivery Organization, will identify a high performing team with the right blend of skills to execute the program

4. While the Delivery Organization will be responsible for the realization of the solution, you, as the Portfolio Manager will be responsible for its construct, its packaging, and the realization of the stated business benefits. You will have a dotted line into the program team that will deliver the overall portfolio on your behalf

5. Once the solution comes to bear, it will be your responsibility to coordinate with Marketing and related units to develop the required collaterals (White papers, Elevator pitches, Presentations, and Marketing Brochures) to enable the Pre-Sales and Sales engines

You must be able to communicate with a number of areas of the company –

1. You will be responsible to ensure that the solution is supported by appropriate Architecture, Design, and Engineering artifacts and assets. The responsibility for the IPR of the solution will rest with the Head of Solution who will report into you

2. You will work with the Delivery counterpart to define product release requirements however you will be responsible for its Roadmap (New Features, New Capabilities, and Innovations including) - the Solution will be maintained by the Delivery Organization

3. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering

Experience

We are looking for an individual who has been responsible for managing and enabling complex solutions in the Telecom domain with an ability to integrate and package solutions. You will have worked in a large organization (Telecom Operator or a SI or a Product Vendor) and have the experience of orchestrating a number of organizational units to enable the solutions.

They will bring with them a rounded understanding of the Retail and ICT business model, the business ecosystem, the processes, solutions, architecture, and technologies that operators use to manage their business, the challenges & issues in these sectors, the emerging trends and opportunities in these sectors including how the SMAC forces impact the Operator business as a whole and how all of these impact solution decisions and investments.

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. This role will call for extensive sponsor and stakeholder engagement, expectation management and influencing both internal and external to our vertical.

We are looking for a Product / Portfolio Management specialist who will gathered a variety of experiences from a number of different engagements across their career, like:

1. Portfolio / Product Management Leader for a large IT Services Provider responsible for enabling complex solutions

2. Portfolio / Product Management Leader within a Telecom Operator responsible for realizing Voice, Data, and VAS solutions

You should have a recent demonstrable evidence of such skills and experiences.

You will be designated as Head of Portfolio Management and will have the responsibility to incubate Telecom focused solutions globally. You will report directly to the Global Head of Solutions, Pre-Sales, and Bid Management. Your success is directly tied down to how well you are able to enable market leading solutions within agreed timelines and budgets.

Salary will commensurate with requisite experience and is designed to attract the best talent in the industry.
