We are looking for Group Manager - Legal & Compliance role.
Location - Trivandrum or Pune.
Experience - 10-15 years.
Role: Head of Legal
Hands on with Legal counsel and all laws, compliance.
Industry preference - IT Captive, Financial services, Insurance, Not from MFG.
Required Education / Certifications
University degree in Law from a top tier accredited institution.
Summary:
- Responsible for heading and steering Legal and Corporate Affairs (Corporate Secretarial) SMEs to meet the requirements.
- Provide pro-active legal support and advice to the business units and key stakeholders across the offices in India and to assist them with achieving their core strategic objectives while appropriately managing and mitigating the associated legal risks.
- Point of Contact for the local management, Regional legal functional owners and central head office legal function.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in legal and/or Compliance field and/or Data Privacy (Financial, IT, Insurance, Technology, ITES business). Strong knowledge in Anti-Corruption, Anti-Fraud, Economic Sanctions, Data Privacy rules and regulations and compliance culture is added advantage.
- In-depth understanding of the legal system of India, including but not limited to civil law, contract law, company law, international trade, tax and commercial law, labour law.
- Strong professional ethics and integrity
- Excellent command over English language (both writing & speaking skills)
Key Responsibilities - [Mandatory]
- Responsible and Accountable for the outputs and outcomes delivered by the SME's in Legal and Corporate Affairs (Corporate Secretarial) areas.
- Responsible to management for strategic alignment of its activities to global legal ambitions and other strategic ambitions. This includes ensuring the branch operates in compliance with local regulations and Corporate Rules as prescribed.
- Provide advice to senior management on legal and regulatory issues. Advising all divisions and departments on litigation and non-litigation matters involving all the relevant and applicable laws.
