Group Head - Legal

- Lead and direct the entire legal functions for the Group Companies, Trusts, Institutions, Projects, Mergers & Acquisitions, Land acquisitions etc.

- Responsible to handle all litigations, petitions, appeals, affidavits and other allied activities and attend hearings. Act as the key point of contact and support for all cases.

- Coordinate with legal counsel in relation to the litigations and disputes.

- Engage legal counsel based on the requirement

- Litigation management for civil, criminal, constitutional/service cases.

- Ensure timely filling of affidavits, counters, applications, representations, before appropriate forums / courts

- Facilitate conciliation, arbitration, negotiation, dispute management

- Maintain track of all litigations filed by or against the Group including tracking of various cases filed against the Group before various forums / courts

- Provide legal advisory service and support for the Group as and when required

- Keep the Group updated on various laws, statutory changes, authorities, etc.

- Work closely with the top management to support making key legal and statutory decisions

Ideal Candidate :

- Law graduates with experience of 20+ years - initial years in law firms + more than 10+ years in corporate domain

- Candidates presently drawing more than 50-55 LPA - who are at AVP/VP Level will be preferred.

- Very good Proficiency in Tamil a must.

- Candidates from Mining/Cement industry will be preferred.

- Experience in Mining Related Industry will be an apt.

- Should have good experience in drafting of Contracts, Agreements, Legal documentation

- Should have good experience related to Land acquisitions, matters related to Corporate, Trusts, Litigation Management for Civil, criminal, constitutional matters, Service Cases etc.

- Should have good experience in conciliation, arbitration, negotiation, dispute management etc.

- Should have very good knowledge of Tamil. Knowledge of Hindi will be preferred.

- Should be willing to work out of Chennai.

- Should have experience handling apex courts in the state as well as the country.
