Group CEO - Industrial Group

Reporting : To the Chairman and Executive Director

Preferred background : FMCG Industry

Location : Central Africa

PURPOSE :

- CEO - Industrial Group will oversee all the manufacturing businesses, people, and ventures. He will be the highest-ranking executive in the organisation and will be responsible for the overall success for the manufacturing businesses.

- The responsivity will include development and implementation of strategic planning to further advance the company's vision, mission, strategies, and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth of the organization.

- Build and model a great company value, culture, provide inspired leadership to our executive team, establish a great working relationship with the board of directors, key executives, and govt. bodies.

- The ideal candidate will be a strategist with proven leadership skill to steer the manufacturing businesses in the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission, and long-term goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

KRA :

Strategy & Development :


- Drive the P&L of the manufacturing businesses and scale & maintain high growth.

- Development, review and refinement of the Company's business strategies, and execution of those strategies to obtain a leading position in the marketplace, ensure revenue growth is achieved in a responsible and profitable manner.

- Provide strategic advice to the board and Chairperson so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company's future.

- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.

General Management :

- Provide strong leadership and set up the strategic road map and business vision for the organization.

- Execute business plans, to achieve the Company's financial and operational objectives.

- Accountable for all aspects of business performance and ensure that objectives are

- attained in a cost-effective manner that is consistent with quality requirements.

- Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimising cost.

- Communicates with people inside and outside the company to discover what policies, products, and marketing strategies will help it move forward.

- Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.

Sales and Marketing :

- Develop, implement and manage the marketing/PR strategy

- Oversee sales and marketing programs of the organization and develop strategic sales and marketing objectives

- Oversee and review annual business plans and control to monthly, quarterly and annual expense and revenue budgets.

- Provide leadership, direction and management to the marketing and sales team in a manner that ensures exceptional service to all stakeholders and that produces market differentiation and competitive advantage

Financial & Budget Management :

- To be accountable for manufacturing businesses P&L, investment return, business, financial performance and manage all risks with prudence.

- Working with the Chief Financial Officer to prepare, approve and control the organisation's annual budgets, analyse the risk of its investments and advise the board of directors on the risk and return of the investments.

- Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times.

People Management :

- Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.

- Consistently manage performance firmly and fairly.

- Maintain a content and motivated workforce through interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.

Stakeholder Management :

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

- Proactively work with product line management, service, and other departments to incorporate best practices into the manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Strategic planning, high level decision making, Organisational skills, Operational excellence, Leadership, Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, People Management, and excellent communication.

Experience :

Min. 10 years' experience at senior position having multiple P&L responsibility and overall,20-25 years' experience in managing manufacturing businesses. Must have handled turnover of USD 100 - 150 M for multiple business entities in current or previous roles.

Scale & size of operation :

This incumbent is responsible for managing overall Manufacturing businesses which are Alcoholic beverages plant, non-alcoholic beverages plant, cosmetics plant, Sanitary pad and diaper manufacturing plant, plastic pallet manufacturing plant, biscuit manufacturing plant, milk power & detergent powder packing plant and fertilizer manufacturing plant.

Qualification :

- Bachelor's Degree in engineering with MBA from institute of repute

- Preferred background: FMCG Industry
