Job Summary:

The Program Manager (PM), will be responsible for scoping, developing, coordinating, and monitoring Bankers without Borders- (- BwB- ) volunteer projects in the Asia region. This person will also serve as the team's communications person performing a wide range of knowledge sharing, marketing, and communications for BwB.

- BwB is Grameen Foundation's initiative to engage business professionals in skills-based volunteer projects across social enterprises in India and the Asia region, including microfinance, technology for development, and NGOs/ social enterprises working in areas of agriculture, health, and education. The PM's primary responsibility will be managing existing commitments in the region, while developing a pipeline of clients for BwB. S/he will liaise with companies and their CSR departments, associations, industry associations, and institutions of higher education to identify volunteers to be placed with clients.

Reporting and relationships :

The PM will report to the GFI Head Strategy & Operations and will work closely with the Director of Bankers without Borders- and other members of BwB, in the Asia Regional Team, and other departments within Grameen Foundation.

Availability :

The BwB Program Manager will be expected to work a typical 40-hour workweek plus additional hours as necessary to get the job done. The position will be based in Gurgaon, India, and will require travel within the region. This position will need to be flexible to work in local conditions, and be available to work across different time zones.

Essential Job Functions :

The Program Manager will be directly engaged in or support the following activities :

- Project Management and Volunteer matching (Time & Effort commitment 60%) :

- Manage and execute a portfolio of BwB project activities with MFIs, local and regional microfinance networks, and other pro-poor social enterprises/ NGOs whose mission and interests are aligned with the Grameen Foundation. This would include:

- Conduct training and orientations, and other onboarding programs for volunteers

- Working with client organizations to develop project plans, scope of works

- Coordinating and managing the relationship between the client organization and volunteer(s) for the successful execution of projects

- Serve as primary liaison to and provide logistical and other administrative support to volunteers assigned to BwB projects in the region.

- Perform monitoring and evaluation of ongoing BwB projects in the region.

- Obtain client feedback and document learning.

Business Development (Time & Effort commitment -20%) :

- Build relationships with and actively sell BwB services to social enterprises and NGOs working in the space of microfinance, technology for development, education, health, agriculture, renewable energy and other areas of development as well as internal Grameen Foundation programs.

- Manage existing corporate commitments in the region and develop new corporate relationships with funding commitments.

- Develop and liaise with local sources such as companies and their CSR teams, associations, industry associations, and institutions of higher education to identify volunteers.

- Conduct due diligence on potential BwB client organizations as appropriate, including preparing/reviewing due diligence reports in close coordination with the regional staff and other product/service teams.

- Serve as the BwB liaison to Grameen Foundation staff operating in the Asia region.

- Maintain in-depth knowledge of latest industry developments related to volunteer opportunities, micro finance and technology-for-development in all countries of responsibility.

- Assist in fundraising activities for BwB work in the region in coordination with the regional leadership and the Senior Program Manager of BwB.

Communications, Internal and External (Time & Effort commitment 10%) :

- Maintains the website of Bankers without Borders

- Creates and manages internal communication of BwB and updates internal communication platforms on program and performance highlights

- Drafts press releases, articles, blogs, web content, talking points and other materials

- Provides, coordinates and/or monitors proofreading and editing to ensure professional, high quality communications materials

- Acts as custodian of all marketing and communication material for BwB

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

- Has a deep commitment to eradication of poverty and alignment with Grameen Foundation's mission

- Excellent messaging and writing skills (blogs, articles, capturing lessons learned, writing case studies

- Experience in one or more of the following fields: volunteer management, business development, project management, customer relations, sales, communications, marketing or recruitment.

- Exceptional customer relationship skills at the executive and decision-maker levels.

- Strong analytical & problem solving skills.

- Ability to effectively communicate priorities, delivery expectations, risks and concerns to multiple stakeholders.

- Confident in making presentations and delivering Bankers without Borders trainings to various stakeholders.

- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

- Ability to work independently and interact with various levels of management.

- Ability to gain working knowledge of the fundamentals of the NGO/ Social enterprise space, micro finance and technology-for-development efforts as well as understanding of the latest industry issues and trends.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook.

- Fluency in English is required.

Education and Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in any social sciences, business and/or development field required; Masters preferred

- 5-7 years of work experience in related field;

- International work or volunteer experience in emerging markets a plus.

- Holder of post-graduate professional qualifications in any of the following disciplines would have added advantage: project management, sales and marketing, human resource management, finance or technology.
