Position Title: Marketing and Communications Manager Status: Full-time Consultant (1 year), with possibility of converting into employee role Location: Gurgaon, India Grameen Foundation India (GFI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grameen Foundation USA and has been set up with the primary purpose of using microfinance and technology solutions to - enable the poor, especially the poorest, to create a world without poverty.- GFI provides several products and services in areas of technology, human resources management, social performance management and developing sustainable business models to social enterprises in India. Job Summary : - The Marketing and Communications Manager performs a wide range of knowledge sharing, marketing, communications and public relations activitiQes to promote Grameen Foundation's work, learnings and impact. This person is the key communications person for our work in India. Reporting and relationships : - The Marketing and Communications Manager report in to Head - Strategy and Operations at Grameen Foundation India. He/she also works closely with the Global Director of Marketing and Communications(MarComm) at Grameen Foundation USA and other program, senior and executive staff; negotiates and facilitates key external marketing and media relationships. Availability : It is expected that the Marketing and Communications Manager will be expected to work a typical work week of 40 hours plus additional hours to get the job done. The position will be based at Gurgaon. This will occasionally be required to work in the evenings and on weekends. Essential Job Functions : Strategy and Planning : - Develop a plan for enhancing Grameen Foundation brand - Developing MarComm's annual plan (both strategic and tactical) in line with long term plan to advance and secure the Grameen Foundation brand Communications, Internal and External : - Manages media relations: supports outreach strategy, responds to inquiries, acts as interface between Grameen Foundation programs and staff and media in Asia - Drafts press releases, articles, blogs, brochures, web content, talking points and other materials - Provides, coordinates and/or monitors proofreading and editing to ensure professional, high quality communications materials - Maintains the website of Grameen Foundation India - Creates and manages internal communication of Grameen Foundation Asia Programs and updates internal communication platforms on program and performance highlights - Acts as custodian of all marketing and communication material for Grameen Foundation Asia programs Knowledge sharing and event management : - Serves as MarComm primary point of contact for Grameen Foundation programs - Manages planning and development of marketing and communications tools for programs and services - Acts as integral part of the project execution team, develops a deep understanding and appreciation of the programmatic work and shares key learnings in form of blogs, articles, case studies and select events - Manage the content and logistics of knowledge sharing events that are hosted by Grameen Foundation - Performs other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : - Excellent messaging and writing skills (blogs, articles, capturing lessons learned, writing case studies ) - Strong working knowledge of Grameen Foundation programmatic areas, including digital financial inclusion. Exposure and knowledge of mobile agriculture and mobile health also preferred. - Knowledge of the international development industry, especially in Asia - Knowledge of the media landscape in Asia, strong relationships with journalists - Knowledge of leveraging social media - Ability to work independently, set priorities, make sound decisions, and manage complex projects and relationships under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment. Must be flexible. - Ability to effectively communicate with other staff members - Ability to act as a representative of GF to the public - Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps; experience with graphic design software a plus - Skills in photography, videography, print and web design, and multimedia storytelling a plus - Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time Education and Experience : - BA in marketing or closely related field. - 7 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in marketing, communications or a closely related position - Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience.
