The Good Food Institute India (GFI India) is at the forefront of the movement to use food technology and markets to solve some of the world's biggest problems relating to climate change, global hunger, antibiotic resistance, and future pandemics, by working to build the smart protein sector from the ground up. We're creating a transformative industry similar to renewable energy, and we're doing it fast. Your work will be critical to the fight of our lifetime - stewarding public and planetary health.

The Communications Associate will make GFI India's work possible by working closely with experts across science, business and policy to accelerate the impact of smart protein (plant based, cultivated, and fermentation-derived meat, eggs and dairy) - foods which are vastly better for human and planetary health than their conventional counterparts.

How You Will Make a Difference

It's a critical time for smart protein in India and globally. We've seen several exciting announcements and a promising beginning, with GFI India at the centre of these developments, but plenty of work remains to build a truly thriving industry and achieve our public and planetary health goals. GFI India's Communications Associate (Marketing & Community Engagement) will play a key role across our program areas by supporting our efforts to identify, target, and grow key audiences through our own external communication channels including social media and our website, and our events. With a strong focus on organisational skills and project management, you will radically transform the food system by supporting the Communications function in the following areas:

Marketing and stakeholder engagement:

- Analyzing and segmenting our key audiences including scientists, policy-makers, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and investors, to inspire them to use their skills and resources to address challenges within our global food system.

- Managing marketing campaigns to target these key audiences, providing feedback on creative materials, keeping projects on schedule and within budget, and ensuring marketing campaigns are executed effectively.

- Monitoring success metrics on program related marketing and communications channels, establishing and adhering to best practices at all times.

Digital content and engagement:

- Developing a mastery of GFI India's mission, vision, voice, and key messages.

- Writing and scheduling clear, compelling copy across GFI India's social channels including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, and YouTube; creating dynamic content, social listening and engagement with GFI India's audiences, and staying on top of the latest trends and emerging forms of social media.

- Tracking and analyzing digital engagement results and providing weekly and monthly reporting and analysis to inform decision-making.

- Working collaboratively with the Communications team to build out GFI India's visual communications capacities and assets, including the conceptual development, production, and distribution of social-friendly videos, graphics, and photography.

- Setting in place best practices and measurement for SEO to ensure content receives maximum discoverability for organic views.

Operational excellence and reporting:

- Working with the Communications team, and across GFI India's function areas to ensure all projects and associated reporting is undertaken in a timely manner.

- Working with operations to provide inputs to department spending, and following all human resources and operational procedures.

- Performing other duties as assigned.

Who We're Looking For:

We are looking for smart, thoughtful, and creative self-starters who want to push back against climate change, transform industrial animal agriculture, and develop healthy and humane foods that are accessible to everyone. GFI India staff enjoy high levels of autonomy and must be self-motivated, work well both independently and in concert with a larger group, and be comfortable working with a rapidly evolving and growing team. The Communications Associate must have:

Knowledge and experience:

- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an agency environment, media, public relations, or a related field. A masters, advanced policy or administration degree, is a bonus but not required.

- A minimum of two years' professional experience in a related field.

- A proven track record of working with processes, systems and databases, with an inherent sense of curiosity and a scientific approach to information at hand.

- A strong understanding of social media engagement, digital campaigns and measuring activity and reach, Google Analytics, and the ability to edit and proof-read copy for social media.

Skills and behavioural attributes:

- Strong support for GFI's philosophy and mission; demonstrated interest in public health, environmentalism, hunger relief, animal protection, or the drive and initiative to take responsibility for delivering impact.

- Excellent written and verbal communications and organizational skills, with experience in, and comfort with communicating with a range of stakeholders.

- The demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly in writing and in oral presentations to a range of audiences.

- Strong work ethic and ability to see projects through to completion

- Highly effective organizational and interpersonal skills

- Self-motivated and able to work well independently under pressure

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines

- Ability to work creatively and effectively as a team member

- Comfort working remotely and in-person as required, and in a rapidly growing and evolving organization.
