Godrej Industries (Chemicals) is one of the oldest businesses of the Godrej Group and is in the business of manufacturing oleochemicals in India since 1963. Today, we are one of India's leading oleochemicals players and manufacture and market over 100 chemicals for use in more than 24 applications. We are expanding our reach globally and our products are exported to over 80 countries in North and South America, Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities are located in India at Valia in Gujarat and Ambernath in Maharashtra.

Designation: Sourcing & Logistics Head (GM / AVP)

Location: Mumbai - Godrej One

Job Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for handling overall Sourcing, supply planning, Logistics, commodities buying, purchase at Godrej Industries Ltd- Chemicals. This position will play a key role in the organization's Procurement unit, identifying and establishing the sourcing networks and establishing best procurement practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for sourcing, Supply Chain Management (Outbound / Inbound Logistics, Inventory and Warehouse Management), Purchase & Commodities at GIL-Chem.

- To lead the on-site commodities, purchase for the organization, thereby ensuring achievement of operating and financial objectives in line with business strategy.

- Maintains knowledge of market conditions, anticipates market changes based on trends and recommends appropriate actions related to those assigned items.

- Identifies, develops, and maintain sources/business partners of supply based on reliability, financial responsibility, technical competence, and adequate capacity.

- Knowledge and ability to execute "Best Purchasing Practices".

- Identify and qualify potential suppliers, evaluate, and communicate performance, manage and develop long-term partnerships with suppliers to enhance overall capabilities and result in more efficient product development and a more agile supply chain. co-ordination with production, QC & sales/marketing to ensure timely deliveries of material.

- Vendor development from different Geographies for de-risking supply chain. Working with vendors to improve credit period, any other improvements leading to cost reduction, working capital reduction

- Continually optimize supply chain with respect to price, inventory, supply continuity, and terms and conditions.

- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize inventory levels and material flow while minimizing stock-out risks.

- Making comparative charts / business case using quotations/offers from different suppliers/ market inputs/adding own insights .Arrive at buying decision for awarding business price/ quantity allocation & help taking calls on period of contract

- Optimizer performance cell to allocate the quantity including all cost parameter related to logistics operations which include input parameters from sales and production team.

- Well versed with modern technology, ERP & SAP Tools (MM & SD Module).

- Increase productivity in the terms of logistics to reduce TAT/GIGO (Turnaround time/Gate-IN & Gate-Out Time).

- Coordinating with various departments (Production, sales, quality, costing and New Product Development) to ensure proper execution of planning.

- Minimizing monthly sales loss through production and dispatch plan, tracking, and analyzing service level efficiency to avoid future losses.

- Responsible for Customer Audit and Internal Audit related to Logistics, Sourcing, Purchase, Commodities Function

- Tracking of budget v/s actual freight expenses, gaps & analysis.

Educational Qualification: MBA

Experience: 18 - 22 years of experience
