The Agri-Inputs division of Godrej Agrovet is a rapidly growing business in the Agrochemicals industry, operating across all segments of Insecticides, Fungicides, Herbicides and Plant growth Regulators. Being constantly in touch with the grass-root developments in agriculture, through an extensive team of professionals has powered the growth story of this business.

We have an exciting and challenging leadership role as the Head of Marketing for Agri-inputs business of GAVL; based out of Mumbai.

The Primary responsibility of the role would be to develop over-all marketing strategy by studying the overall agri-business indicators, tracking Demand & Supply, identifying new opportunities, monitoring the competition and working with the Product management team to achieve the Product-level contribution and P&L targets. This position will report to the head of the business and will be leading a team of 5 members.

Key Responsibilities are as below:

- Improving the overall marketing effectiveness by identifying short & long-term issues that need to be addressed and guiding the day-to-day activities of the Product management team

- Develop product strategy for overall product portfolio consisting of PGP/Herbicide/Fungicide/Insecticide/Organic Manure

- Developing regional crop-product placement plan

- Developing the regional promotional plan

- Establishing pricing policies for all our products

- Develop the core positioning and messaging for the portfolios

- Study of the competitors placement and communication strategy

- Developing the appropriate marketing communication

- Build the market share by developing marketing plan and programs for each of the products and directing promotional support

- Design portfolio strategy to improve market presence, reach and penetration with closer coordination with Sales, R&D and Product development /registration team.

- Develop strong working relationship between the Product management team and Sales team enabling them to achieve their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations

- Responsible for procurement of tech/bulk for our pesticide portfolio. Build, Maintain and manage vendor relationships with suppliers (domestic & MNC's). Also manage costing and finalizing the yearly indent for each of the product.

- Maintain research database by identifying and assembling marketing information ( MACP)

- Maintenance of inventory at the regional level through appropriate processing of indenting and tight monitoring on sales

Desired Skills and Experience

- B. Sc (Agriculture) / M. Sc (Agriculture) with MBA / PGDM (Marketing) from leading Indian B-schools

- At least 5 years of experience in front-line Sales coupled with 4-5 years of experience in Marketing or Product Management

- Proven track record and experience of Sales and Marketing in Crop protection industry

- Customer centricity and a mindset for constantly scanning and keeping abreast with the Market, Industry and Domain related aspects.

- Willingness and Flexibility to travel across the country
