POSITION TITLE - General Manager/ Vice President- Direct Sales  BUSINESS UNIT - Marketing  REPORTING TO - Executive Vice President- Marketing  NO OF REPORTEES - To be decided  LOCATION - Head Office, Bangalore  Position Summary (Comprehensive summary of what the job exists to accomplish)  Key role in helping the company set up a direct to consumer channel comprising of Tele sales, FOS model, Alliances and e-strategy  Key Accountabilities (A collection of duties and/or responsibilities assigned)  The Life Insurance Company wishes to set up a Direct to Consumer Channel. The company has been selling products through traditional channels. There is a need to cater to the untapped and un-serviced customer segments where the traditional channels have not been very active or viable.  In addition, increasing online customer activity presents a low hanging opportunity to service such customers through online and offline fulfilment capabilities. Once relatively stable, the channel can help the company tap the Orphan customer base for cross selling.  The core deliverables of the role will be to set up direct marketing channels like Tele sales, FOS model, alliances and e-strategy. Build a transparent, structured and scalable sales program for cross sell and up sell programs based on the life cycle needs of the customers which would be used organization wide.  Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications (Framework required by the position)  - 10+ years of work experience in direct sales with at least 5 years+ experience in Life Insurance  - Experience in running direct marketing channels like Tele Sales, FOS model, Alliances. Selling through online channel will be an added experience  - At least 3-4 years in a leadership role managing teams across cities  - Experience in topline ownership and managing a P&L  - Collaboration, Influencing and negotiation skills  Personal Attributes & Competencies  - High on energy with positive outlook  - Team player with ability to network across the organization  - Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills  - Strategic thinking applied by practical and commercially sound views  Performance Measures (The quantitative measures of the job’s overall responsibility)  - Successful pilots as per business plan  - Scaling up of the channel in 6 to 9 months  - Project management during the pilot to scale up phase
