Job Title : GM Operations

Main Responsibilities / Job Summary

(Primary deliverables of role and its scope)

- Manage all aspects of all aspects of the factorys operations “ production, maintenance, utilities, HR, Quality, Logistics and Security

- Production Planning and Control.

- Budgeting, Capital & Revenue monitoring, Controlling operational costs by improving yields, better utilization of manpower and resources, reducing and eliminating wastes.

- Foresee every step in the continuous process industry, each step to be taken at the right time and in the right place and each operation to be performed in maximum efficiency.

- Achieve Production and Budgetary targets montly, quarterly, yearly.

- To plan, direct, organize, coordinate, control all the functions of the unit. To ensure that all the departments of the units are functioning properly and effectively in order to achieve the organizational objectives.

- Schedule tasks and production runs and ensure that productive capacity does not remain idle and there is no undue queuing up of tasks via proper allocation of tasks to the production facilities. No order goes unattended and no machine remains idle.

- Ensure that right supplies are available at the right time.

- Help to reduce the cycle time and increase the turnover via proper scheduling.

- Provide for adherence to the quality standards so that quality of output is ensured.

- To solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.

- Develop management control systems to aid in planning and cost analysis, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities.

- Support the development of all Integrated Systems (such as modules in SAP, Machine and Equipment related systems).

- Envision, and design Lean manufacturing systems as a way of life and support activities towards improving Plant Efficiencies.

- Liaise with different departments regarding all production issues

- Ensure the factory's rules and regulations are statutorily compliant with the local law and practices

- Initiate 5S, Kaizen, Visual Management etc towards Plant and Operational Improvement.

- Ensure statutory compliance of all aspects of Plant Operations. Effectively handle and interface with statutory bodies to ensure full compliance.

- Adept in effectively managing industrial relations.

Knowledge (Technical / Functional)

Knowledge of

- Manufacturing Excellence Practices like TPM, 5S, Kaizen, QC Tools, GMP, Six Sigma etc.

- Costing

- SAP and ERP systems

- Edible Oil Technology

- FMCG experience desired but not essential

- Interaction towards obtaining Statutory clearances for Factory operations.

- Strong Leadership skills

Skills

- Strong Leader, Ability to train, Mentoring and handholding implementation, Problem solving orientation, Ability to learn new concepts, Establish strong infrastructure, Influencing skills, Communication & presentation skills, Interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of spoken Kannada must be developed as a must. Fluency in reading, writing, speaking English is a must.

Qualifications

- BE / BTech in Chemical Engineering or Technology

- Specialization in edible oil processing.

Experience

- 15-20 years of manufacturing experience

- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in edible oil processing or within the FMCG sector.

- Age < 50 years.
