Key Responsibilities:  - Has day to day responsibility for accurate, effective and timely legal advice, and support for employer at an expert level on broad range of matters including commercial and contractual matters of significant strategic and/or financial value to employer  - Identify areas of risk in relation to employer’s operations and provides solutions to manage the risks  - Draft and negotiate legal documents relating to commercial and contractual matters   - Assist in the development of best practices within employer with regard to the legal aspects of commercial and contractual matters or other broad range of matters  - To provide strategic legal advice in terms of new and proposed legislation.   - To deal with and manage correspondence with Regulatory and other Governmental Authorities in connection with the Company’s business.   - Leads discussions between clients and other functions within employer to ensure the best legal solution to meet commercial objectives and to encourage best practice  - Provide regular reports and updates to Head Legal and to internal functions, as appropriate  - Assist in the training of the business and other legal professionals on key legal issues  - Liaise with external counsel in respect of specific matters  - To provide strong functional support to Head of Legal in all manner of legal issues.   Measures of Performance:  - Timely closure of Agreements  - Minimise unforeseen legal exposure for the Company and its executives  - Timely legal support in terms of legal interpretation required for business performance  - Quality of legal advice/ opinion  - Compliance with the provisions of Insurance Act and other regulatory provisions  - Provide in - house legal support required by functions in internal as well as external dealings  - Defend the Company and its executives against any legal exposure  - Effectively deal and co-ordinate with and extract work form external legal vendors  Qualifications:  - Post graduate/ Solicitor in Law from a recognised university. He/ She should have never been debarred/ disqualified from the Bar council of India.  Skills/ knowledge:  - Sound academic record  - Good command over Corporate and civil Laws  - Exposure to insurance regulations  - Excellent drafting and oratory skills  - Strong networking and influencing skills  Experience:  - 9 - 10 years of experience in a reputed law firm/ consultancy / corporation and exposure to civil, corporate laws, insurance consulting and consumer laws  - Experience of handling legal cases at a local level  - Should have worked on independent projects in a multinational environment  - Exposure to dealing/ negotiation with firms specialising in taking ad-hoc/ Contractual/ retainer assignments
