Global Functional Lead - Material & Finance Data

Opportunity with a leading FMCG MNC house.

Role Summary :

Leads enterprise master data program to deliver company's Global Master Data for 'Material and Finance' data type, Solution Design, Data Quality, and Data Governance projects. Accountable for driving successful implementation of Data Governance solutions across all geographic regions and company's businesses. Has broad responsibility for driving alignment across multiple business functional areas to define & execute project scope and deliverables.

This role is viewed as a techno-functional expert in the master data management domain for both 'Material and Finance' related data. He will be required to collaborate with multiple stakeholders spread across the globe from Business, IT, and other stakeholders in order to define and achieve a mutually agreed outcome in the master data domains for both 'Material and Finance' data.

This role is expected to work closely with:

- Business Subject Matter Experts to understand requirement details for providing effective and timely solutions.

- Business Data Owners to ensure alignment with domain priorities such as getting data rules & requirements.

- Business functional area leaders to ensure scope & deliverables are aligned to business needs.

- IT team to provide functional domain expertise on both Customer and Supplier Data

- Requirements are gathered effectively.

- Work closely with technical Solution Architects from the IT group to ensure alignment to solution direction.

- Delivery Partner teams (both internal and external) to ensure requirements, specifications, design, and delivery are high quality and meet business expectations.

- Enterprise Architecture (IT) to ensure the technology platform is appropriate.

- Works closely with other IT teams to align the functional requirements to ensure integrated technology solutions are seamlessly executed across technology platforms and areas of responsibility.

Domain subject matter expert in the Master Data governance for both 'Material and Finance' data types, solution delivery, and data quality measurement. Delivers technical and functional leadership for complex master data solutions and can mentor others in the organization. May provide work direction / general guidance to other team members as a functional and technical lead.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for the end-to-end business requirements (Solutioning) - a requirement gathering, translate into Functional specifications.

2. Engage with business to gather requirements, workshops, features listing, Prioritizing, negotiation of scope and priorities with business.

3. Define Project sequence, scope, and deliverables as the Business Analyst.

4. Lead for business UAT, organize the business UAT test scenarios, triage business test defects.

5. Functional/technical leader of large, complex global projects. Accountabilities across multiple functional and technical areas with a wide range of complexity.

6. Manages scope & deliverables of strategic projects to ensure a successful outcome that is aligned to the business, IT, and domain priorities.

7. Drives implementation of master data solutions on time and without affecting or impacting business processes.

8. Builds relationships with internal and external service providers and support teams to ensure effective project delivery.

9. Actively guides and inspires project teams (Business, IT Services, and Delivery Partner) so that they understand the vision and deliverables for the project.

10. Works directly with the business, IT, and other associates to align on requirements and solutions.

11. Maintains in-depth understanding of processes and capability needs for master data.

12. Creating and maintaining data policies; significant contribution to strategic direction on governing master data.

13. Proactive analysis of business processes and identification of innovative ways to address business needs and address them appropriately in a timely manner.

14. Leads Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives; consults and shares knowledge across the organization; full awareness of industry trends related to master data around both 'Customer and Supplier.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS (Must have):

1. Direct experience delivering Data Governance / Data Management solutions.

2. Hands-on knowledge of key technologies including SAP MDG, MDM, SAP ECC/Hana

3. Excellent knowledge and domain expertise in SAP ERP Customer, Vendor, and FI - Chart of Accounts(COA), Profit center, company code, GL Codes Master data.

4. Experience with Data Dictionaries and Metadata management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:

Education required/ preferred - Bachelor's degree (preferably MBA degree)

Experience:

- Minimum 13-15 years of professional data management experience playing the role of functional lead / functional architect/data architect in global master data domain independently e.g., 'Material and Finance' Master data functional lead/architect

- Minimum 6 to 8 years of providing business solution and working experience in SAP MDG- Strong experience in working directly with business clients driving requirements workshop, finalization and prioritization of requirements and requirements negotiations with the business stakeholder's expectation management

- Experience in translating business requirements into functional (information/data) design, establishing data models, and preferably converting functional design to technical design

- Have a good understanding of the Data Life Cycle Management and Customer, Vendor and Finance - Create/Update process is a MUST

- Strong experience in working closely with SAP ECC data structures and interface

- Experience with FMCG / CPG (Consumer Products Group) organizations is preferable

- Strong leadership and service delivery skills.
