Global Business Intelligence - Data Integration Modeller

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of global data warehouses, data delivery processes, and decision support applications. Creation and maintenance of metadata and documentation of design. Collaboration with business and IT functions to ensure delivery of complete end to end solutions.

Principal Accountabilities:

Key Challenges Skills, Know How and experience:

- Delivery of technical design for feature elaboration working closely with the business owners, business analysts and other relevant teams

- Collaborate with the data governance, architecture& infrastructure teams to ensure that downstream architectural considerations and road-map are fed into ongoing feature work.

- Identification and recommendation of fast track solutions for key business requirements.

- Identification and recommendation of changes to drive continuous improvement in either quality, efficiency, and ongoing consolidation of data sources

- Ongoing personal development to increase awareness of key emerging technologies, communicate across the teams and apply through Proofs of Concept.

- Perform design and code peer reviews

- Represent the Global BI function in strategic programme delivery as needed

- Support the ongoing design and execution of data migration and mapping aligned to the IT Road-map

- Collaborate with Business Users or Global Test Teams to ensure delivery of solutions on-time

- Assist development teams on an adhoc basis

- Delivery of Global BI initiatives - Managing remote team members

- Working with multi - language, multi – currency database and web application platforms that are integrated with wide range of business systems

- Working with globally dispersed business functions

- Continued alignment with business function analysts to ensure ongoing consolidation of environments and data sources

- Pressure to deliver on-time and on budget in a fluid environment

- Anticipate future Business Intelligence & Decision Support needs of our business

- Working in a globally dispersed function and ensuring ongoing alignment

- 5+ years experience working in a technical delivery environment (IT or BI)

- Experience with working with SQL,.NET APIs, Web Services, C#, SharePoint, Business Intelligence: Microsoft: Integration Services, Reporting Services Data Modelling Integration and Analysis Services Data Modelling and SQL Server normalized/de-normalized database/system design patterns within Kimball Model) & QlikView: Source Document & Data Modelling integration; Web Scripting such as PHP, JavaScript/jQuery/Ajax and classic ASP a plus;

- Demonstrable experience of designing and implementing large scale performant solutions leveraging advance SQL Tuning, Partitioning and other tools/techniques to minimize digital footprint

- Strong knowledge databases such as Oracle, MySQL, DB2, and SQL Server

- Experience of working directly with customers in the business and requirements elaboration

- Experience in dealing with nuances of user configurations in order to provide quality technical support for internal customers

- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to work hands-on in a fast paced environment

- Strong understanding of business intelligence and productivity industry standards and terminology

- Willing to learn new processes and apply to daily work

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation, including developers, architects and senior management.

- Experience working in global teams

- Experience with Agile process using Team Foundation Server

Position Dimensions:

- Reports to Global BI Development Team Lead

- May require occasional international travel.
