Responsibilities:

Statutory compliance under indirect tax i.e Registration, Payment of duty & taxes, filing of various returns etc on or before due date of all plant & LL location of GGL

Co-ordination with all Plant & operations team in respect of smooth Operation under Large Tax Payer Unit (LTU) w.r.t various requirement (Obtaining CT-1 Form, rewarehousing Certificates, Modvat Reversal certificates, unutilized certificate, UT-1 /Bond, Installation certificate, Obtaining signature of Triplicate Copy of ARE-1, intimation of Invoices series and cancellation of Invoices ) within reasonable time

Manage various internal & external audit/Assessment & various data request:

Statutory audit/ internal Audit /Tax Audit / Cost Audit (Providing various Indirect tax schedule /information) EA-2000 Audit / CERA Audit etc. for all plants & LL Locations

Providing SOP for Excise, Service Tax, VAT, WCT Operation relating to all Plant/ LL Operation in different states.

Implementing new changes in SAP as required for Excise, Service Tax, VAT, Works Contract Tax, Profession Tax and Cess from time to time as per amendment in laws within reasonable time. Streamlining the Automated process of Filing E- Returns/Epayment for all locations relating to Excise /Service tax/VAT/PT etc. through net

Litigation /Queries from Govt. Authorities: Handling Notices/Letters/Queries from various department/judicial authorities well before the prescribed time inco-ordination with Tax consultant/ Advocates

Liasioning/Interaction with LTU/ dept. Authorities and submission of all documents / requirements as per the demand / requirement raised by the dept.

Attending personal hearing before various authorites to represent company stand

Credit/ Tax management:

Ensuring all eligible Service Tax credit availment at HO & distribute to plant

Ensure Maximum utilization of Excise Duty at all Plant through cenvat credit resulting in NIL payment of Excise duty in Cash.

Liquidation of accumulated Cenvat Credit balance through Rebate Claim of all plant thereby reducing the Rebate claim status to 3 Months Sale against Rebate claim

Discussion with plant personnel relating to various tax related issues, analyze tax issues as per the provision of indirect tax regulation that could impact the business and update the management at regular intervals.

Examine other tax related avenues which could reduce cost and enhance margins

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Indicate the education level, previous experience, specific knowledge, skills and abilities required to meet minimum requirements for this position.

Education: Graduate/Post Graduate preferably with CA/ICWA/LLB with background in taxation

Experience: 5-8 yrs of relevant experience in manufacturing set up.

Should have handled CERA audit /Personal Hearing during his previous experience

Knowledge and Skills (Functional / Technical)

- Sound functional knowledge, good drafting skill, PR & Liasioning skill etc. Good SAP, Excel etc.
