Deputy Manager- Procurement (DOA/DOB Material & Capital Purchases

Reports to: Site Procurement Lead

Department: Procurement

Location: Sonepat

Job Purpose:

To ensure cost effective & efficient procurement of DOA, DOB & Capital items and ensure effective services of contracts and AMCs in supporting uninterrupted operations at site.

Key Responsibilities:

Dimensions of the Role:

- Demand Order B items: Annual Purchase worth 4-5 Crores depending on Site OPEX plan. The job involves liaison with user departments & about 250 vendors and transporters to procure the materials from the right source, at the right cost, at the right time and in required quantities.

- Capital items worth: Rs 5 crores approx depending upon site plans

- To procure cost effective and quality capital & DOA items worth 10 Cr. as per the timelines

- The annual scrap sales amount to Rs.1.00 Crore approximately. Scrap sales involves awarding annual contracts for major day to day generated scrap and disposing various capital scrap items and revenue scrap items as and when generated, fulfilling the scrap sales procedures.

- Licenses - Liaison with contractors for submission of renewal applications of the Licenses and other statutory reports.

He will also be responsible to:

- Ensure smooth & uninterrupted supply of material & services to site.

- Procure cost effective and quality capital & DOB items as per the timelines.

- Contribute to the achievement of departmental KPI targets while keeping the customer requirements in mind.

- Establish and maintain a rapport with vendors & internal customers to ensure smooth supply of Contracts and AMCs.

- Preparation and maintenance of Purchase contracts & orders and ensure effective documentation, so as to facilitate efficient retrieval.

- Negotiate with vendors to ensure the lowest price while providing materials and services in time and of desired quality.

- Ensure statutory compliance of the site in respect of commercial tax regulation of the state.

- Ensure accurate & timely submission of commercial information to the procurement manager through MIS & regular review.

- Identify areas for improvement using the various initiatives - OE/PE etc and capture the necessary benefits.

Education/Experience:

BE/B.Tech. in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Dairy or Food Engineering/Technology from reputed institutions. Preferably with post graduate qualifications in general /materials management from A Grade institutes. A diploma in excise and tax laws would be an added advantage.

4-6 years of experience in a process industry handling a similar function.

Knowledge & Skills:

- Knowledge of various commercial & insurance regulations

- Good working knowledge of computers & systems like ERP, E commerce & BPCS

- Exposure to modern inventory management processes & procedures, Companywide initiatives like Procurement Excellence

- Negotiating skills

- ERP & NIPP operation
