Data Scientist - Training & Development Vertical

Job description

We are looking for a training assistant to support our data science trainers. The successful candidate will join a team of data scientists delivering high quality data science training.

Main Responsibilities

- Support the Senior Data Scientist in course development including materials, training schedules and training programmes.

- Assist the senior data scientist during training sessions. Activities include room set-up, course material readiness, session management and contribution to discussions

- Contribute to feedback/tutoring to data science students during lab sessions

The ideal candidate will be/have :

- Bachelor or above in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or with relevant working experience in a similar.

- Expertise in at least one statistical software package, preferably Python or R.

- Advanced skills in a scripting language such as Python.

- Excellent verbal and written communication

Other Preferred Qualifications include:

- Knowledge of applied statistics and machine learning.

- Knowledge of SQL

- Experience with the Hadoop framework and associated tools such as Pig, Hive, Spark, etc
