The key objective of the German- Indian Programme Modernization and Innovation in Indian SME (MSME INNO) is to strengthen cooperation among industry, academia and government organizations with the goal to improve the ability to innovate and promote sustainability in the MSME sector. - The project is working with various industry associations, academic institutions and subsidiary government organizations and at various level (macro- at ministry level and micro at pilot industrial clusters). The project has developed instruments to promote the ecosystem of innovation. The project is in process of up-scaling the developed instruments and approaches to the state level and make them available on a broader level. A. Responsibilities : The person will lead the project activities of the GIZ MSME Innovation Project in the state of Punjab and will work towards building an innovation ecosystem in the State. As part of the role, the person will be supporting implementation and roll out of various project activities in the state of Punjab in partnership with relevant public and private stakeholders. She/he will support the Project Director in project monitoring and project reporting activities using the monitoring tools of GIZ to steer the result-based monitoring requirements of clients and stakeholders. B. The Technical Expert will perform the following tasks: - Be the focal point of contact responsible for coordinating the activities of MSME Innovation project in the state of Punjab. - Identify &amp; engage with local SMEs, industry associations, academia and other relevant organizations working in space of innovation promotion in MSME. - Conceptualise and roll out activities to strengthen the - connect- between industries and academia (in consultation with Project team in Delhi) - Manage stakeholder relationships and strengthen the cooperation with/among key cooperation partners to strengthen the ecosystem of innovation at state level. - Plan, conceptualise and coordinate state level policy meet and consultations for integrating innovation agenda in policy dialogues. Liaise closely with the State Government/departments as required. - Develop collaboration opportunities with private sector for initiating joint collaboration projects fostering modernisation and innovation among SME's. - Support in developing design strategy to communicate project outputs both internally and externally through presentations, articles, project briefs, etc. - Monitor and evaluate the project activities in Punjab region as per GIZ monitoring requirement. C. Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualification - Post Graduate in Management /Engineering/Economics/ Social sciences or related fields. Professional experience : - Minimum 6 years of experience in the arena of project management in the field of sustainable development. - Working experience in MSME Promotion, national/international chamber &amp;association with government, or companies will be advantageous. - Proven record of accomplishment of engagement with regards to stakeholder engagement, development, planning and execution. Additional Skills to be highlighted in the application - Excellent oral and written communications skills; - Understanding of business and the strategic role of Corporate engagement in assessing and analyzing challenges and opportunities.
