Currently, GIZ has over 330 staff in India, of whom 85 percent are national personnel. India is fast emerging as an economic and industrial power. It is a member of the - Group of Twenty- (G20), and of the BRICS association. Despite the country's rapidly growing economy, poverty and other socio-economic issues remain a challenge. The burgeoning population and accelerated urbanisation in the country have resulted in an environment at risk and greenhouse gas emissions that continue to spiral upwards. The thematic areas of GIZ in India are: - Energy - Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity - Sustainable Urban and Industrial Development - Sustainable Economic Development The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) as well as the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) are the main commissioning parties of GIZ in India. Other clients include Indian public sector clients, the European Union and foundations. The Government of India has launched numerous important initiatives to address the country's economic, environmental and social challenges, and GIZ is contributing to some of the most significant ones. For example, it supports key initiatives such as Smart Cities, Clean India and Skill India. GIZ, in close cooperation with Indian partners, devises tailor-made, jointly-developed solutions to meet local needs and achieve sustainable and inclusive development. Project Background The Alliance for Integrity (www.allianceforintegrity.org) is a global business driven multi-stakeholder initiative between multinational companies, civil society, political organizations and international institutions. The aim of the Alliance for Integrity is to promote integrity among companies, their business partners and other relevant actors in the economic system. In addition, it contributes to better framework conditions by fostering dialogue between the public and private sector. Currently the Alliance for Integrity is operational in Brazil, Ghana, India, Mexico and Germany (HQ), with a substantial presence in the Latin American region. The Alliance for Integrity in India is anchored within the Private Sector Development (PSD) portfolio, given the strong focus on businesses and linkages to the other projects in the portfolio. The Technical Expert will be in-charge of the management of the Alliance for Integrity in India and will have support of the programme staff in rolling out activities. Description of the position: Responsibilities: Management - Manage the members of the Advisory Group and further grow the network partners - Engage with Indian and international companies, organizations and institutions and build reliable relationships with relevant stakeholders - Develop strategic and innovative approaches and formats for co-operation with the private sector in the area of anti-corruption - Draw out annual action plan and make corresponding budget projections in-line with the overall objectives and priorities Coordination &amp; Implementation - Coordinate and implement activities of the Alliance for Integrity in India - Disburse, review and monitor the budget on a regular basis - Administer contracts and monitor their progress - Initiate and coordinate outreach activities, including organize conferences, workshops, trainings etc. Data Management &amp; Communication - Liaison with the Secretariat (Berlin, Germany) on a regular basis - Prepare project updates for both external and internal stakeholders (progress report, website and social media etc.) - Document project activities for knowledge pooling and sharing purpose - Carry out communication activities to promote and share information about the Alliance for Integrity - Develop innovative formats in the area of anti-corruption - Perform other work related duties as required Required qualifications, competences and experience Required Professional Experience: - Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law/governance/compliance or related fields is required. - A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, ideally with experience in Compliance in a private sector company or similar experience at the interface between public and private sector. Additional Competencies - Excellent knowledge of the Indian Private Sector and the topic compliance - Good knowledge of the corporate legal landscape in India - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Aptitude to develop networks and managing relationships with all relevant stakeholders - Excellent English language skills (oral and written) - Proficiency in MS Office Suite Travel: The position requires some travel (approx. 15%).
