Job Description :
The Chief Technology Officer's role is to manage all aspects of a successful product launch in the market which include product requirement gathering, development, IT infrastructure management, testing and post-launch monitoring.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assessment of the market, identifying opportunities and risks which include competitive services and opportunities for innovation and know-how to overcome technical hurdles to achieve objectives
- Understanding that the success of the business lies in identifying technology trends and dynamic social behaviour of customers
- Evaluate and identify apt technology platforms to support the company's business
- Achieve business goals by strategic planning which include prioritizing development initiatives and setting timelines
- Establishing standard operating processes in the company especially in the areas of software development, office networks and computers and telecommunications
- Team management skills to handle risks ensure organization's resources are used responsibly
- Development and execution of a company security plan that protects the company's data and servers
- Design coding conventions and documentation that are above industry standards
- Initiate R&D projects to enhance our service offerings
- Hiring and managing a team or/and outsourcing vendors for the implementation of applications if required
- Establishing processes that achieve short-term objectives and at the same time evaluating and measuring the selected software development methodology which include conducting code reviews and specification conformance testing
- Ensure a quality assurance process is in place which include integration and system testing
- Manage and evaluate performance profiling tools and procedures
- Review and approve proposed development releases and manage the release process
- Selection and evaluation of web application hosting providers
- Supervise the application deployment process to staging and production servers, review application performance and suggest solutions for failures
- Identify and maintain tools that measure site traffic and application usage
- Support marketing process such as digital marketing and SEO
- Improve application usability by implementing processes to integrate customer service with the software engineering process
- Know-how of technology standards, industry trends and emerging technologies by attending conferences and keep up-to-date with industry topics
- Observe company values and standards when acquiring/developing systems, equipment and software
- Educate and mentor the stakeholders of the company with regard to the company's technological vision, opportunities and challenges
- Maintain best practices and ensure high technology standards across the organisation
- Solve and report technical problems in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Develop and execute annual plans that include capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations
- Responsible for recruitment, training, retention of development staff in accordance with company hiring process and budget requirements
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and vendors
- Ensure the company's internal technological processes and customer-facing services comply with applicable laws and regulations
Requirements :
- B.Tech / M. Tech / PhD/ MBA degree with a passion in working for a start-up environment
- 10-years of experience in IT and 5-6 years in leadership role
- Previous experience in a similar position is compulsory
- Excellent communication, leadership and team management skills with the ability to manage business operations independently
