Job Position: Deputy General Manager Strategy & MD office

The role requires the incumbent to provide strategic support to the Managing Director for overseeing business operations management of the development business along with other businesses. The position requires a finance professional with an understanding of real estate development and capital markets. The candidate would require strong analytical capabilities and an ability to assess business/market risks to assist the MD in creating mitigation strategies for the same. The specific focus areas would include:

1. Monitoring short & long term goals of GDPLs development business

2. Strategic advice & assistance in managing the family annuity business

3. Monitoring performance of The Gera School

4. Tracking and implementing investment strategy of the family office

Specific Responsibilities:

Development Business:

Tracking and reviewing progress of the organization & RE industry:

- Analyzing the MIS data to derive meaningful analyses on a monthly basis

- Reporting deviations vis- vis projected annual business and improvement plans

- Proactively monitoring RE capital markets to identify and report discernible trends including primary online research on corporate earnings

- Formulating industry updates for the MD

Assistance in formulating and monitoring risk mitigation strategies:

- Evaluation of market trends, economic indicators and regulatory changes likely to impact the RE industry and GDPL in specific

- Quantifying the potential impact of identified risks using statistical models

- Strategizing mitigation measures along with the MD and reporting on implementation of the same

- To stay abreast of technology and help guide/advise on technology enhancement of the businesses

- Assisting the MD with external stakeholder management of branding, PR & rating agencies, financial institutions

Annuity Business:

- Monthly review and reporting of financial metrics relating to the annuity business ~ inventory, vacancy, collections, expenses etc.

- Evaluation of prevailing rental market dynamics likely to impact the family's assets

- Evaluation of potential opportunities from a market and financial perspective to assist the MD in taking investment decisions

- Reviewing and managing documentation of assets including monitoring regulatory & legal compliance

The Gera School:

- Monthly review of MIS and operational metrics of the school and reporting the same to the MD

- Monitoring and reporting variations between budgeted and actual costs

- Attending trustee meetings to understand and monitor CSR plans

Gera Family Office:

- Ongoing review of all family office investments, analysis of performance metrics and reporting the same to the MD

- Treasury management by identifying and recommending optimal investment opportunities in line with the family's short and long term goals

Technical/Functional Skills:

- MBA in Finance from a reputed university

- Minimum 7-10 years work experience in the real estate industry

- Experience with analysis of capital markets is preferable

- Understanding of personal & family financial planning
