Job description:
Key Accountabilities :
- Generate monthly and weekly forecasts starting from statistical forecast till final operations forecasts
- Work with stakeholders to understand historical trend, events, outliers etc. and use it to improvise forecasting technique, method and approach for better forecast accuracy
- Collaborate with Marketing, Trade and finance category to estimate promotional volumes of regular items, innovations and offerings by regional sales and distribution channels
- Lead weekly meetings of alignment with Planning (Supply, Deployment and Innovation Planning) for discussion of production plans and handling exceptions
- Coordinate the S&OP process and lead the pre-forecast monthly meetings aiming to decrease the BIAS, improve the accuracy of estimate and promote the continuous optimization in demand planning
- Ensure that aggregation and dis aggregation of forecast happens accurately at all levels
- Support implementation of innovation plans of category, with the definition of volumes, stocks and sales opening strategy
- Waste management: Control level of inventories of discontinued products and develop initial Trade plans with category
- Conduct risk analyses, stock and/or waste, both for regular products and innovations
- Review forecast accuracy and related metrics periodically and work towards improving these
- Work with innovation and marketing team for generating forecast for phasing in and phasing out products
- Ensure master data is correctly and timely updated in the system
- Understand statistical aspects of forecasting to ensure models are updated accurately
- Ensure and drive the upkeep and maintenance of process documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems by the team
Required Skills :
- Strong knowledge of demand planning processes such as base lining, best fit modeling, forecast enrichment, outlier correction, promotions, events, trend, forecast lags, forecast accuracy/Bias etc.
- Good knowledge of various statistical forecasting and inventory optimization techniques
- Functional experience in forecasting tools such as SAP APO, Demantra etc.
- Understanding of database management and any ERP architecture preferably in demand planning
- Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics: Inventory turns, service levels, safety stock, classes of inventory etc.
- Experience in managing phase in phase out products
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to interact at senior leadership levels in business
