General Manager - Strategy - Shipping/Investment Industry

Overall Job Purpose:

- Responsible for Project Management, Strategy and Sustainability within the subcontinent. The objective of this role is to work with stakeholders to develop new models of growth that are inclusive, sustainable, transformative, and collaborative to shape our organization's long-term strategy and develop measures that realize our business and sustainability objectives.

Specification - Key Accountabilities:

Project Management & Strategy:

- Monitor, manage and follow up on local, regional and global strategic initiatives.

- Constantly evaluate our short and longer-term strategy and ensure strategic deliverables.

- Make detailed investment proposals when required.

- Manage internal and external stakeholders.

- Oversee business projects and ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Also ensure all team members uphold the company's standards throughout each project's development and execution.

- Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects.

- Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.

- Analysing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.

- Providing financial reports and budget outlines to Executives.

- Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards.

- Drafting new and improving existing project management policies and processes.

- Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.

- Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification.

- Supporting and guiding senior executive decision-making processes.

- Assessing organizational performance, developing achievable goals and implementing processes that improve organizational effectiveness and build a sustainable competitive advantage.

- Work closely with Area India and global teams for capability enhancement.

- Assist in business development in the front ending as well as for proposals and pitches.

- Planning and executing the research and analyses requirements.

- Planning, implementing and managing proposed recommendations and projects.

- Aligning departmental goals, processes and resource allocation with the organizational strategy.

Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements:

- MBA

- 10 -15 years industry experience in Shipping and/or Investment industry

- Mature leader with good communication skills

- Proven track record in leadership positions

- High integrity and ability to manage challenging environments

- Experience in financial projects

- Asset knowledge

- Stay up-to-date of emerging trends and best practice about sustainability

- Understanding of key sustainability issues and how they can be integrated into business to create measurable value

- Knowledge of sustainability requirements of local legislation, standards and international best practice
