General Manager Projects (Mexico)

POSITION SUMMARY :

We need a hands on go getter for discharging a techno commercial role handling Green field projects for at Mexico / Overseas location / India. This role requires an astute professional with high integrity to handle Greenfield projects end to end from the technical side as well as vendor / government liaising.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Preparation, Planning of CAPEX with all technical details & coordination with plant locations / Head office for its execution in given time line.

- Overseeing the entire Project Management process, including the selection and appointment of Basic Engineering & Detailed Engineering Consultants for PMC on EPCM/EPC basis, strategizing Project synergies like Product Mix, Land selection, Infrastructure development, coordinating with internal and external agencies for successful execution of all Project activities.

- Reviewing Designs, Plant Layout, Installation & commissioning of the Plant equipment.

- Co-ordination with Planning & Production Depts. for better Plant output.

- Developing specifications for Process Machinery & Auxiliaries and overseeing the procurement activities for these items. Providing assistance to the teams throughout the commissioning process at the Project Site.

- Assisting the PMC by providing all necessary inputs and requirements from the client's side to ensure the proper preparation of Equipment Specifications related to Utilities Supply, General Mechanical Works, Piping, Electrification, HVAC, Infrastructure, and Off-sites. This includes aspects such as Incoming Water Management/Treatment, Process-specific Infrastructure, Effluent Treatment, and Disposal.

- Conducting a thorough review and approval process for all the aspects.

- Managing the complete procurement process for the equipment & Processes.

- Identifying and developing new vendors, exploring import substitution opportunities, and implementing necessary activities to achieve success in these areas.

- Coordinating and providing guidance to Commercial Departments such as Importers, Finance & Accounts, Logistics, and Stores, ensuring that they meet the required results within the Project's time and cost parameters.

- Coordinating with Process Technical, Production, Quality teams, and Contractors to ensure that construction activities, equipment installation, and commissioning activities are completed to their satisfaction and in alignment with the Project's time, cost, and quality standards.

- Sound Knowledge of Civil, PEB, structural, piping, electrical and mechanical drawings.

- Point of contact for all regulatory matters pertaining to the plants.

- Handle applications for various licenses / consents / approvals etc. with the regulatory authorities.

- Strong liaison with the government departments / regulatory authorities for making representations and obtaining licenses / consents / approvals etc.

- Complete Utilities, Boiler, ETP / STP, environment, various energy sources streamlining.

- Electrical substation, HT/ LT distribution & whole plant electrical set up.

- Identifying opportunities and streamlining power purchase for the plants.

- Handle EHS and technical audit of plants.

- Vendor development / coordination, preparing specifications, getting quotes as per specification & coordinating with purchase for its ordering.

- Generation of various reports / presentations for management review.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- A BE or B Tech mechanical / Electrical with 18-25 years of relevant work experience with an MNC / reputed domestic tyre Company.

- Proficiency in English is must.

- Should have prior experience of discharging roles and responsibilities of a techno commercial person.

- Seasoned professional with relevant Tire industry experience (PCR / OTR)

- Must have handled at least 2 complete Project Life Cycle.

- Should be innovative and flexible.

- Good drafting & Communication skills are essential to this role.

- Should have ability to handle pressure and work under tight deadlines.

- Must have good knowledge of Machineries specifications.
