General Manager - Project Management - Commercial & Plant

About Client :

Our client is a renowned & well established organization and is a market leader in its operating industry. It is a large organization with a pan India presence and large employee base (5000+) with a huge number of offices across the country.

Job Role :

Our client is growing at a fast pace and has multiple offices and plants across the country and as the organization grows, the needs of the organization will also change. For example with growth; an office in a certain part of the country would need a larger operating space.

Therefore, one would need to analyze whether there is a need to augment additional space by building another office floor or whether the organization needs to relocate office or whether a renovation/redesign can get the space required. Similarly one needs to determine whether a factory might need an additional building within the same premises or a new factory needs to be set up at a different location in form of a new project etc.

The person will be supported by a team which will take care of providing operational support to this role whether it is in the form of providing design support or in execution. As a leader thus person should be capable of overseeing the projects strategically (Planning & Capex, Project Roadmap, Feasibility, Commercial & Legal negotiations). The role requires the person to have excellent communication skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders in a large organization.

- This is a Strategic role and not an execution role. This is a role which entails more of Planning and managing Capex.

- This role requires someone who has managed Commercial (Offices) and Factory projects.

- People who have done Infrastructure projects like Roads, Railways, Power, Metro will not be suitable for the role.

- The role is responsible to conceptualize and lead various projects from a strategic level (not just execution). This means role is responsible for Capex planning, Design, evaluating feasibility of a project, evaluating vendors who will execute the project at ground level etc.

Desired Skills and Expertise:

- Two Years Full Time MBA is highly desirable with minimum 16 years of Project Management experience in Commercial (Offices) and Factory projects.

- People who have done Infrastructure projects like Roads, Railways, Power, Metro or large engineering projects will not be suitable for the role

- Experience of working in a large organization (corporate) is desired.

- Excellent communication skills & well groomed with ability to manage stakeholders.
