General Manager - Procurement - Engineering Space

- Ensuring objectives related to budgets, delivery and product quality are met

- Work closely with the Leadership Team to drive the overall Procurement strategy

Our client is a key player in the precision engineering space with a very strong India presence alongside an overseas presence. Catering to the needs of the textile industry, the company has aggressive growth plans with Procurement being looked at as a key value driver. They are looking for a GM Procurement based out of Pune.

Description

The incumbent will report to the CEO and be responsible for:

- Develop and maintain productive relationships with direct reports, senior management, customers, other support groups

- Review and approval of all purchase orders and contracts

- Ensuring accuracy and adequacy of purchasing/contracts negotiation and supply chain administration activities

- Timeliness, accuracy and adequacy of problem identification, status reporting and corrective actions

- Being involved hands on with the business and managing imports from key geographies

- Setting up domestic vendor base to optimize costs incurred

- Department staffing, training and oversight besides being responsible for annual employee performance reviews

Profile

An ideal candidate will come with at least 8-10 years' experience, including execution of diverse procurement activities and ability to fit purchase in the engineering environment. The person must exhibit strong commercial and contractual awareness and excellent negotiation skills. Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with staff, clients and vendors are essential, as is ability to manage imports from markets like China, Belgium & Germany besides others.

Professional accreditation in the SCM area would be considered an advantage.
