General Manager - Marketing & Customer Understanding - Consumer Durable - IIM/MDI/ISB/FMS (10-15 yrs)

TheGM-Marketing will be responsible for providing thought leadership for Company's branding and marketing efforts to build brand values, brand image and achieve clear brand differentiation. This would entail specific focus on:

- Corporate brand building and positioning

- Mass media communication and digital marketing

- Ensuring alignment of BU specific marketing & branding initiatives with corporate branding/ marketing guidelines

- Ensuring branding, marketing and research initiatives are embedded fully and appropriately into LTS 2020-25

- Providing thought leadership to BU marketing leaders.

1. Key Responsibilities: Strategy

Strategy Development :

- Shape and communicate the mission, vision, value and promise of the company brand as well as its various product brands

- Develop an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) Strategy including the various types of communication (TV, Radio, Print, Digital, Promotion, Exhibitions, etc.)

- From primary and secondary research, develop actionable insights that assist in strategic decision-making

Research:

- Conduct primary research by partnering with creative agencies, media agencies, retailers, agronomists and BU's, to measure effectiveness of existing branding and marketing initiatives, and identifying additional marketing and branding activities to be undertaken

- Conduct secondary research through research agencies to understand consumer markets, monitor market trends, competitors' activities to provide growth opportunity for the brand

Operational:

Corporate:

- Undertake key branding projects,e.g. - build-up power brands, reinforce consumer strong holds, create markets, become player of scale and accelerate innovation agenda

- Set up a Brand Architecture - Informative guide for brand extensions, sub-brands and development of new products

- Develop Brand Books- Detail of the brand identity/personality, brand guidelines, style guide, why does the brand exist, rules about how a brand work, main brand elements, etc.

Business Units:

- Partner with key internal (all SBUs) & external stakeholders to create a roadmap to help achieve the strategic marketing priorities, brand strategies and plans set forth in the LTS 2025

- Work with business to closely support marketing teams across BUs to develop and execute various brand initiatives including marketing & promotional programs, on ground events, digital campaigns, etc. for existing products and new launches

- Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, questionnaires, and opinion polls

Governance and Admin Support :

- Track budget, measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess ROI and KPIs

- Conduct research and analyses, translate campaign performance into communication presentations and reports for senior management and key stakeholders

- Partner with relevant agencies for branding related training sessions

Required Candidate profile:

- Graduate/Postgraduate - Engg /Science / Commerce / Economics / Marketing from Top University with MBA in Marketing from Tier 1 Institute

- Atleast 8-10 years of experience in Marketing and Branding with leading FMCG's companies mandatory

- Specific experience of having developing brands

- Prior experience in Agri Related industry is preferred.

- Prior exp in Agri related / Consumer goods industry preferred

- Prior experience in Digital marketing preferred.

- Highly proficient in the entire MS Office suite

- Business case and investment modeling

- Strategic planning using qualitative tools

- Project management skills

- Problem solving skills in an ambiguous and unstructured environment

- Business build skills

- Ability to define, simplify, standardize processes and implement best practices

- Strong knowledge and understanding of the marketing concepts, especially around branding

- Strong business intuition with basic knowledge and understanding of the agricultural market in India and globally

- Analytical skills- Data driven thinking and affinity for numbers

- Digital and Tech savvy; comfortable with tools and technology

- Proactive thinking

- Ability to work with cross functional stakeholders
