General Manager - Maintenance & Projects - Manufacturing/Industrial

Our Client is a Rs 900 Crore business with 2 manufacturing locations 45 kms of each other in & around Hyderabad. The client is professionally managed, provides ample growth opportunities for career-oriented and driven candidates.

The Unit under reference has state-of-the art machinery involving substantial CapEx, contributes to a large part of Company's turnover and profitability. Manufacture is partly process and rest can be likened to an engineering industry.

We are looking for (preferably) a Mechanical Engineer under 45 years of age to head the Engineering function in this Unit. He would oversee O&M of utilities appropriate to a Unit of this size, complete mechanical, electrical, instrumentation maintenance, and, projects for retrofitting and upgradation of equipment.

He would have a team of 5 direct reports at Senior Manager to AGM level, and, would indirectly oversee a team of about 100 comprising of Engineers, on-roll and contract workmen.

The position reports to the Head of Works.

Develop routines for preventive and predictive maintenance, deploy resources to comply with plans.

Review condition of equipment and plan for upgradation; accordingly, prepare proposals for capital expenditure; work with procurement department in technical and commercial negotiations with both equipment and service providers

Review stocks of spares and plan for replenishment and/or phasing out

The major accountabilities would be around control of operating expenses within budgets agreed and motivating teams to effect reductions; improve uptime through increased MTBF and improved time for response; reduce overall cost of maintenance (manpower, parts cost etc) as % of sales to levels achieved by benchmark Organizations
