Purpose of the position: Incumbent is expected to establish and ensure timely compliance for group of companies as per the Statutory Requirements of the various Acts. Review processes and help in process integration for respective stakeholders. Liaison with Government Authorities. Leverage tools and technologies and adopt the best practices for improving efficiency, effectiveness and cost containment purpose. To lead and drive the implementation of improvement projects (digital interventions/ automation projects) in collaboration with the COE team. Education: Chartered Accountant / Chartered Management Accountant Skills: - In-depth knowledge of GST/ Pre GST Indirect Tax Law and procedures - SAP knowledge of MM and SD modules - Understanding of Accounting & Reporting requirements. Relevant Experience : 1. 15-20+ years of experience 2. Preferably should have worked in Automobile/any manufacturing Industry 3. Knowledge of legal/ statutory compliance for the Indirect Taxation function. 4. Hands on experience of Liasoning with various government authorities. 5. Resource allocation and ability to lead a team. 6. Project management, change management and Process management experience. 7. Good Communication with analytical abilities and decision making skill. 8. Stakeholder management. Key Responsibilities: Stakeholder Management - Establish controls and ensure Tax compliance by way of timely and accurately filing of returns including approval of returns for all locations ( 25 States) + Indian Subsidiaries - Provide support to Business at locations for smooth conduct of business. - Monthly review of locations concerning compliance. - Monthly GLs reconciliation of all identified Tax GLs with locations based on SOBs. - Implementation of all changes in law to ensure compliance across locations. - Review processes and remove manual intervention/transactions with the support of IT. - Ensure integration of all different practices being followed at locations. - Provide support and guidance to locations in Departmental Audits under GST Law. - Resolution of issues impacting business by way of effective representation thru' trade bodies. - To provide support to locations for reply to SCN/ handling VAT/ CST litigation. - To participate in implementation of value creation opportunities - Manage People Management - Track dashboards with the governance teams for quality, productivity and effectiveness. - Upskilling and cross functional training for all personnel within the tower. Develop Knowledge Management frameworks and ensure knowledge is retained in the team. - Motivate team members to achieve targets and performance standards. Identify areas for team coaching and support to help achieve performance expectations. - Responsible for team development, engagement, knowledge management and attrition levels including resource allocation and work load balancing. - Effective communication to delivery staff on new initiatives and corporate communications. - Ensure superior service delivery / customer satisfaction & conduct associated bench marking projects.
