General Manager - Design & Engineering

Qualifications / Work experience (minimum & desired):

- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical, Production from renowned Institute with a min 15 yrs of experience as senior design professional in a manufacturing/engineering industry.

- Excellent background in conceiving, designing and executing a variety of advanced Technology/Engineering related industrial tools/products.

Core purpose of the role:

- To head Design Engineering division which is directly responsible to Build ‘ global best in class’ Twin Screw Extruder and Single Screw Extruder systems (including seamlessly integrating up-stream and down-stream equipments) that are reliable, robust ,rugged, user-friendly and of contemporary and innovative design.

- Also Interact closely with Sales (across India, Japan, America,China & Europe, Technical Service and Operations to meet specific customer needs from a design, engineering and delivery perspective

Key Result Areas:

- Overall responsibility of designing Extruders and Peripherals

- Identifying all inputs required to evolve an acceptable design and reviewing them for adequacy

- Evolving standardization in a manner that effectively supports futuristic Customer Service

- Constantly fill gaps in design/drawings that hinder service support in respect of sold machines

- Identify, hire, train and develop team members to positions of responsibility and leadership

- Train & Develop team member with the best-in-class design techniques

- Ensure proper documentation and BOM is available for every single extruder that builds.

- Lead Value engineering efforts for all of products

- Review Gearbox design & current customer issues, issues especially related to higher RPM

- Diligently Design and Develop low cost twin screw extruder

- Identify potential deficits in present designs & providing a permanent solution to the problems

- Making Extruders robust, maintenance friendly and trouble free

- Planning, scheduling and monitoring of Design projects and reporting the same to the Management

- Create, share and track specific KRAs to team members with timely feedback and guidance

- Collaborate with functions on product design, knowhow, resourcing matters etc to ensure highest product quality

- Undertake design & development of accessories for extruders & release drawings for prototype product
