General Manager Communications

Purpose Summary :

- You are responsible for developing and implementing Co's communication strategy in line with the organization's wider strategic direction. The purpose of the role is to enhance Co's brand and reputation, to strengthen the organization's influence and contribute to its sustainability. This position involves high level of hands-on work with responsibility in the areas of marketing, communications, media, and events.

Key Responsibilities :

- To manage, develop and implement communications strategies which will support Co's strategic goals including :

a. Publications :

- Production of the Co's annual report and other corporate and project specific publications, including the monthly newsletter and weekly ebulletin.

b. Website and Interactive Media :

- Contributing to the development and maintenance of the Co's website and other interactive strategies to ensure currency, relevance and ease of access and use

c. Events :

- Overseeing the implementation of Co's networking, community education and/or promotional events

d. Media and Public Relations :

- Researching and preparing public statements and presentations for organization, and managing public relations

e. Editorial Support and Advice :

- Undertake proof-reading, branding and preparation of Co's publications.

- Provide strategic communications advice to the Co's executive developing, implementing, and reviewing the strategic communication plan

- Prepare a wide range of innovative marketing, communications, and media collateral for diverse audiences (government, service providers and peaks) and channels

- Support stronger links with journalists and increased uptake of Co's stories in the media

Qualification And Experience :

i. Post Graduate Degree in Communications or journalism or public relations and having 12-18 years of brand management, executing communication products/campaigns.

ii. Exceptional writing skills, including translational research and the ability to write for a range of purposes, channels, and audiences

iii. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex information and communicate it simply

iv. Experienced, confident communicator with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences

v. Well-developed people skills and a collaborative mindset, with sound professional judgement

vi. Ability to use Microsoft Office, content management systems and social media platforms

vii. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.

viii. Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver communication/marketing outcomes to meet strategic goals

ix. Demonstrated track record in senior management role.
