- A global commodities and supply chain merchant, is actively recruiting the role of General Manager for Cashew Production to lead them into a new cashew processing phase of their business.

- The current plan is to set up cashew production in India.

- They are considering all options for processing including commissioned, rental and owned facilities. Once cashew production is set up in India, there will be opportunities for cashew production in Vietnam and/ or West Africa. The role will have the following key responsibilities:

1. Scoping cashew production sites - type of facilities, ownership of facilities, location of facilities etc., developing capital plans and making recommendations to senior management.

2. Manufacturing and factory administration - leading on production of all processing facilities to ensure maximum efficiency and quality in production that is in keeping with regulatory standards and meets customer needs.

3. Production planning and control to ensure a smooth production to shipment process including sampling activities, waste disposal sales, uniform loading of product etc.

4. Risk management including production and financial analyses e.g. cost and contribution analyses, manpower calculations etc and plan corrective actions as required

5. Maintenance of all sites in conjunction with maintenance heads of units

6. People management: Responsible for staffing and management of employees at all sites, as well as maintaining effective relationships with all suppliers and customers

Qualifications and experience:

- Graduate degree (preferred) in engineering or similar mechanical/ production related field

- Minimum 20 years- work experience with at least 10 year- experience handling cashew processing facilities (both fully automatic and semi- automatic facilities)

- Proven track record in managing both Greenfields and Brownfields food processing projects

Skill set:

- Strong leader with excellent facility and people management skill sets, who is not afraid to get their hands dirty

- Proactive planner, identify and manage risks and solve problems

- Highly organized, systematic and able to multi- task under pressure

- Commercially savvy with strong customer focus

- In-depth technical understanding of semi-automatic and automatic processing units and all related equipment

- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills

- Analytical with a good head for figures

- Excellent verbal communication and written communication including the ability to produce clear presentations and reports

- Proficient in MSOffice (including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and ideally one or more ERP systems
