General Manager - Audit/SOX Compliance/Risk Management - Center of Excellence (12-20 yrs)

General Manager - S 404 Center of Excellence

Key account abilities & Decision Ownership:

- Preparation of a comprehensive annual SOX plan, including top down risk assessment and scoping analysis used as the basis for determining the nature and scope for s404 certification

- Stay abreast of developments/regulations related to s404 and ensure that such changes are appropriately communicated within the organization

- Lead coordination activities related to the annual SOX scoping process, working with market SOX leads and external auditors

- Deliver s404 training for Local, Central and shared services SOX teams, as needed, and coach junior members of the team, building global organizational talent

- Lead coordination activities related to the annual SOX scoping process, working with market SOX leads and external auditors

- Assist with process and control updates to global senior management and the Company's Audit Committee of the Board of Directors (ELC level controls)

- Acts as a key SOX contact for s404 LM Leads and external auditors

- Review and monitor LM teams during remediation to ensure that all deficiencies are remediated

- Recommend enhancements to the SOX program, testing programs, and SOX documentation and monitoring processes, to improve the overall control environment

- Contribute to centralizing SOX testing to Central team (s404 COE team) and implement related tools

- Own and coordinate annual section 302 sub-certifications

Key performance indicators:

- Comprehensive annual SOX plan and scoping

- Keeping Group s404 methodology updated with key developments/ regulations

- Effective liaison and co-ordination with internal s404 team and External auditors

- Driving the Vodafone Digital agenda and controls rationalization initiatives

- Maintenance of Standard Controls Sets for Vodafone Finance Operations

Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

- Hands on experience in technical SOX compliance rules and regulations, solid understanding of internal control frameworks (both business process and IT), including COSO

- Strong knowledge of PCAOB standards and in depth understanding and experience on SEC reporting.

- The ability to challenge risks within complex business requirements and translate best industry processes and control environment

- The ability to handle unforeseen challenges

- Strong governance mentality

- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and effective liaison with External Auditors

Must have technical / professional qualifications :

- Chartered Accountant or other recognized professional finance/auditing qualification

- 12+ Years of Post Qualification experience in Audit / SOX Compliance / Risk Management

Desired :

- Telecom experience

- Systems audit qualification/experience

- Direct/Dotted reports: Nil (reporting relationship as per project requirement)
