General Electric - Finance Specialist - Accounting Operations - CA/CPA

Role Summary/Purpose :

Reporting to the Finance Controller (GE Transportation South Asia), the Lead Controller is responsible for supporting the Controllership function for GE Transportation in South Asia. The person taking up the role will be responsible for developing and implementing processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise and be involved in long-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities :

Drive consistent Finance policies and procedures for Transportation businesses in GE South Asia. This will include Controllership, Stat Reporting and compliance with Policies & Regulatory aspects. The key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

- Establish appropriate financial process routines and controls to identify activities that may cause the misstatement of financial position

- Implement new Accounting standards and pronouncements applicable to the business and develop appropriate implementation strategy

- Ensures integrity of financial systems, general ledgers and sub-ledgers & identifies system enhancements to maximize productivity and reduce operating costs

- Develops policies & procedures to ensure proper internal controls while maximizing operational efficiency

- Manage Quarterly statutory closings, JV reporting and other regulatory filings

- Act as liaison to external auditors and resolve audit issues and ensure successful and timely completion of our required audits.

Qualifications/Requirements :

- Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Professional Accountant

- At least 7 years post-qualification experience

- Strong controllership focus and technical accounting expertise

- Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization structure
