To do so, these professionals continuously monitor marketing trends and keep a close eye on competitive products in the marketplace.   Working under the top management, the brand managers serve as the point-person for developing, implementing and executing marketing initiatives and activities for their particular brand. Strong analytical skills, business savvy and the ability to multitask are all essential.  Job Description:  - Merchandising: Creating the right merchandise mix and ensuring range & depth availability.   - Sales & Margin Management: - Regular top line & bottom line tracking and rigorously strive to achieve the respective targets as per the Annual Business Plan (ABP).  - Markdown Management: - Markdowns are carefully decided on the basis of prescribed margins and on the basis of aged & cut sized stocks. The offers are thus based on the decided markdown percentage.  - Replenishment / Allocation of Stocks: - All stock allocations are based on Rate of Sale or Events & Promotions. New Arrivals & seasonal products are dealt separately.  - Sales & Stock Analysis: - Sales is analyzed as achievement on ABP (Target), YOY (Year on Year) growth/de-growth, and shortfalls are analyzed with focus on Average selling price, key product group's performance at various MRP.   - Promotion Planning: - Promotions are more particularly to showcase a new range or new arrivals. All promotions are planned side by side the marketing team which make the planning and implementation most effective, keeping in mind seasons, festivals, current market trends & overall.  - Coordination: - Interacting & coordinating on a regular basis with the retail (sales) team and getting prompt feedback from the store Asst Dept Managers, Dept Managers, Asst Store Managers, Store Managers, and Area Managers etc.   - Analysis: Analyzing merchandise performance on regular basis. Identifying ageing & dead stocks and initiating liquidation plan to control the inventory& ensure optimum stock holding in stores.  - Vendor Management and Development: Sourcing, development and constant negotiations are key work areas here. Also timely merchandise supplies, defects management and constant feedback to develop and grow. Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products.
