About this role :

Gartner's Marketing (GML) Practice is currently seeking a Senior Quantitative Associate for its Benchmarking & Diagnostics team. The team leverages proprietary benchmarking and primary research data and frameworks to offer original, actionable insights to key business problems facing senior executives across industries.

Candidate Attributes :

We are seeking candidates who are principally motivated by data-based ideas as well as have an interest in how various Marketing functions are transforming and how the dynamic business environment is compelling the function to change the way it has been functioning.

This opportunity gives researchers an exposure to the full range of Marketing leadership-level strategic and management topics. To that end, we are looking for creative, analytically strong, articulate and self-motivated individuals who would like to develop a strong knowledge of the terrain along with building consultative problem-solving skills.

What you'll do :

The Senior Associate is responsible for developing, supporting, and executing strategic research that is fueled by intensive data collection, in depth research and quantitative analysis. He or she will be responsible for doing advanced analysis like regression, cluster analysis and factor analysis on various datasets. Researchers engage in various aspects of quantitative research including collecting data through primary and secondary research, designing surveys, benchmarking client performance, conducting descriptive and prescriptive data analysis.

Overall responsibilities :

- Analyzing large, complex, disparate data sets to identify actionable insights for senior executives

- Assisting with large-scale data collection efforts through surveys

- Building benchmark and other standardized data reports for clients with insightful graphics

- Conducting basic descriptive analysis as well as robust inferential analyses, including correlation, regression analysis, etc. to develop insights

- Communicating and presenting analytical insights to internal stakeholders

- Helping internal stakeholders use proprietary data for additional new products and services

- Effectively analyze data to generate insights for clients. 


Specifically :

- Conduct data analyses to clearly prove/disprove research hypotheses; Test results to assess the reliability and validity of data findings; Prepare and present data findings in ways that demonstrates confidence in proving research hypotheses and supporting Gartner client priorities.

- Uphold data quality standards in all deliverables through :

a. Editing of research deliverables to ensure proper and effective use of data findings


b. Creation of survey and graphic templates to facilitate simple survey design for use by researchers and analysts 


c. Updating and maintaining data assets to ensure that all researchers and analysts have easy access to accurate and timely data to support their work


d. Identifying external data sources that can be leveraged in research and advisory work and create methods to make them accessible


e. Collaborating with researchers and analysts to identify areas where data/quantitative analysis can play a role in strengthening Gartner's research

What you'll need :

- Graduates degree with 2-4 of total experience, with expertise in data analysis, quantitative research, analytics or benchmarking

- Hands-on experience on Java, VBA, R and Python

- Working knowledge of tools like Tableau, SPSS, SAS.
