About this role: - Gartner's Financial Services Practice is currently seeking a Quantitative Research Director for its Quantitative Insight team. The team leverages proprietary quantitative data and frameworks to offer original, actionable insights to key business problems facing senior executives across industries. - The Quantitative Director is responsible for leading and managing a 5-member team of quantitative researchers in the Financial Services practice. This team is responsible for intensive research design, data collection, in depth quantitative research and analysis. Quantitative researchers engage in all aspects of insight generation including secondary research; designing the research approach, questionnaire writing, benchmarking client performance; conducting descriptive and prescriptive data analysis; and using frameworks such as hypothesis testing and root cause analysis to generate insights that fuel executive decision-making. What you'll do: A Quantitative Research Director will be responsible for: I. PROVIDING TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: - Provide technical leadership on comprehensive research planning based on market research best practices, appropriate quant methods, project execution, and advanced analyses techniques - Introduce best practices for continuous improvement and high impact, explore and identify new methodologies/innovation to current processes - Ensuring the team is coached on necessary quality checks and data representation II. MANAGING QUALITY &amp; EMBEDDING CONSISTENT STANDARDS: - Ensure high data and deliverable quality through a strong operational discipline and standard processes - Over time develop and improve quantitative research methodologies - Ensure consistency in practices related to data acquisition, analysis and presentation of findings and ensure these are used across all quant studies for the entire Financial Services practice - Drive the effective use of data and quantitative analysis methods and tools in financial services Research &amp; Advisory - Update and maintain data assets to ensure that all researchers and analysts have easy access to accurate and timely data to support their work III. HYPOTHESES-DRIVEN RESEARCH DESIGN - Ensure that research content is guided using hypotheses-driven research design - Ensure translation of research hypotheses into logical, clearly defined and efficiently constructed quant methods and models - Ensure data analyses that are structured to clearly prove/disprove research hypotheses IV. PROJECT EXECUTION &amp; DELIVERY: - Collaborate across Financial Services Research &amp; Advisory teams to ensure that projects are effectively scoped, managed, and analyzed - Partner with Chief of Research to ensure that projects meet ROI expectations, quant staff are effectively and efficiently deployed, and researcher/analysts have the tools that they need to fully leverage the data and resources provided - Increase leverage of data assets across research teams: Responsible for broad use of fact base by creating standardized outputs and driving awareness V. LEADERSHIP &amp; PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: - Provide day to day team management and support as needed - Manage, nurture and develop a team of strong individual contributors - Talent &amp; Skills Evolution: assess need for new roles/skills within primary research - Establish and lead standards that result in optimized processes through innovation and continuous improvement VI.
