As a Senior Manager, you will work closely with and manage local engineering staff in Hyderabad Development Center to support the goals and objectives of the business. As a leader, you must be capable of working in a matrixed organization and coordinating the delivery of multiple outcomes. As a people leader, first, and delivery manager second, this leader must build, inspire and lead the technical teams. You will lead Database Engineering/Ops team and run Gap's global database platforms supporting e-commerce, stores, distribution/fulfillment and corporate business systems.

You will build a world class cross functional Tech Ops team and ensure performance expectations are communicated, on-going feedback is given, and team is delivering on expectations. You will manage matrixed teams to deliver against team goals and objectives; define an operating model that works for multiple Tech Ops teams. You will be responsible for technical and architecture implementation against the agreed scope and quality of the end-product delivered. You will work closely with Database Director, Architects, Product manager and Scrum Master to balance product architecture and delivery timeline. As part of the leadership team you would be integral to defining and shaping India GapTech's future technology vision.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, monitor, maintain, and build out Gap's database infrastructure.

- Owns end-to-end quality of database product(s) jointly with Product manager and architecture.

- Owns and maintains technical roadmaps for their product(s).

- Drive simple and scalable approach to new technology solutions using automation to enable the organization to easily deploy and operate new features, capabilities and functionality.

- Demonstrated ability to innovate and operate outside the comfort zone of established methods and procedures.

- Ensure that metrics appropriate to measure database product(s) health are produced, reviewed and understood (SLAs, Availability, performance metrics, NPM, etc.).

Capabilities & Requirements :

- 10+ years of experience managing complex database infrastructure especially large transactional databases (RDBMS or NoSQL).

- 5+ years of experience as a DBA with one or more of the following database platforms - Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, DB2-LUW, MongoDB or Redis.

- 5+ years of experience managing high-availability database clusters.

- At least 5+ years of experience in a Leadership role building and managing high performing teams

- Experience in one or more Infrastructure automation technologies (Chef or Jenkins preferred)

- Experience with DevOps & ITIL approach in running a superior service operations & delivery function.

- Excellent communication and influencing skills including the ability to simplify key messages, present compelling stories and promote technical and personal credibility with internal and external executives, and both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Proven record of building high performing teams.
