GAP - Senior Manager - Cloud Engineering

Overview :

- This leader will work closely with and manage local engineering staff in Hyderabad Development Center to support the goals and objectives of the business.

- This leader must be capable of working in a matrixed organization and coordinating the delivery of multiple outcomes concurrently.

- This leader will be hands on in terms of design, architecture and development and will be able the lead the team from front in any critical situation.

- As a people leader first, and delivery manager second, this leader must build, inspire and lead the technical teams.

- As this is a shared service and center of excellence, this leader is expected to work with stakeholders, internal customers across the different GAP tech locations

Organizational Leadership :

- Build a world class Cloud engineering team upwards of 15 resources

- Engages with our product engineering teams in GapTech to help land the Cloud migration and App modernization effort

- Manage matrixed teams to deliver against team goals and objectives; define an operating model that works for teams in different locations

- Drives the effort for adopting new technologies relevant to GAP, in building the resiliency to the services

Key Responsibilities :

- Drive the strategy and effort to modernize and migrate on-prem applications / services to relevant cloud.

- Drive the effort for adoption of the containerization of the legacy apps /services

- Help the applications teams with deployment architecture

- Drive the automation of the infrastructure as a service

- Drive the cloud optimization and security governance

- Working in partnership with colleagues throughout the firm, and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals

- Hands on experience on managing operations of large scale internet-centric production environments for application or infrastructure services serving tens to millions of end users.

- Presents possible updates, recommendations, strategic opportunities to local & US leadership

- Develops relationships with local business leaders

- Provides advice on a broad range of cloud technologies and strategies

- Demonstrated ability to innovate and operate outside the comfort zone of established methods and procedures

Key Experiences :

- Hand-on experience with cloud-based technologies and tools especially in designing, deployment, monitoring and operations, such as Kubernetes, Azure, OCI, etc.

- Expertise in driving the effort for modernizing, migrating the workloads from on-prem to cloud @ enterprise scale.

- Worked in partnership with colleagues throughout the firm, and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals

- Deep understanding of SRE philosophy, technologies, platforms and tools, SLA management, incident resolution, and automation.

- Hands on experience on managing operations of large scale internet-centric production environments for application or infrastructure services serving tens to millions of end users.

- Exposure to Azure is desirable

- Exposure to AKS is preferred

- Exposure to OCI is preferred

- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field

- DevOps - Experienced with orchestration, automation, and configuration management using tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Docker etc.

- Demonstrable understanding Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

- Minimum 5 years experience in a Cloud Migration/ Engineering Leadership position, overall 10+ years of work experience

- Broad knowledge of staple IT technologies (e.g., operating systems, servers, virtualization, storage, software development, and their related impacts as it pertains to network resources).

- Retail experience preferred

- Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge management skills

- Understanding of Monitoring, logging, application development, infrastructure and security monitoring tools

- Solid Database understanding such as MS-SQL, No-SQL (MongoDB, MariaDB, HBase) and Postgres etc
